10 new Composer updates: build forms, run A/B tests, set reminders, and more

Composer got 10 updates between October 30 and November 6, helping solve fewer handoffs between planning the work, building it, and coming back to it later.

You can now create sign-up forms, set up campaign A/B tests, edit your Shopify store, share a conversation with your team, and ask Composer to check back on a draft next Monday. If you're new to the tool, this overview of Composer basics is a useful place to start.

Below is the full roundup, plus a prompt to try for every update. Pick the handoff that costs you the most time and start there.

Build more in one conversation

Three of the biggest updates cover work that previously required a separate editor or extra manual setup.

Create and edit sign-up forms

Composer can now create and edit web sign-up forms. Describe the form you need, or ask it to update an existing form's copy, design, fields, targeting, or triggers. You'll see desktop and mobile previews before anything is saved.

Composer saves the form as a draft. You still review and publish it from the form editor, which keeps the final call with you. In-app forms, back-in-stock forms, and landing pages aren't supported yet.

"Create a pop-up form offering 10% off to new subscribers. Show me the desktop and mobile versions."

"Update my footer form headline to 'Join the VIP list' and keep the existing fields and targeting."

For setup details, see How to create and edit signup forms with Composer. And if a published form isn't appearing or submitting as expected, use this sign-up form troubleshooting guide.

Set up campaign A/B tests

You can now ask Composer to build an A/B test alongside an email or SMS campaign. For email, that can include subject lines, preview text, sender names, headlines, images, button copy, layouts, and product selections. For SMS, you can test copy and calls to action, or compare a text-only message with an image message.

The useful part isn't generating two random versions. Give Composer a clear hypothesis so each variation tests a real choice. This Community guide has more ideas for A/B testing.

"Create an A/B test for this email. Lead with the discount in version A and the new arrivals in version B. Keep everything else the same."

Before you schedule the winner, run through this pre-send QA checklist. Generated content still needs a human read.

Build slide decks

Ask Composer for a slide deck and you'll get a presentation you can present, share, or download as a PDF, PowerPoint, or HTML file. That makes recurring work, such as a monthly performance recap, easier to take straight into a meeting.

"Create a slide deck recapping last month's campaign performance. Include the three biggest changes, likely causes, and next actions."

Work across the tools you already use

If your marketing plan, store, and performance data live in different apps, these updates bring more of that work into the same conversation.

Make Shopify edits

Composer could already read from your Shopify store. Now it can also update product details and prices, manage tags, build collections, and create discount codes while you plan the campaign that uses them.

"Create a BFCM collection using my top 20 best-selling products, then draft a 25% off discount code for me to review."

Bring in your Asana plan

If your team keeps campaign briefs and the marketing calendar in Asana, Composer can use that plan to set up campaigns and flows in Klaviyo. You spend less time copying dates, audiences, and creative direction from one app to another.

"Use our November marketing calendar in Asana to set up the campaigns in Klaviyo. Show me the plan before creating anything."

Connect Runneth

Runneth is Motion's creative strategy agent. Install it from Composer's connectors, connect your account, and ask about your brand's ads while you plan email and SMS. That gives you a practical way to carry a promising paid-social angle into an owned-channel test.

"Review my top-performing ads in Runneth and suggest three angles to test in email or SMS. Cite the ad behind each idea."

Keep connector data current

Dashboards and other artifacts that use connected apps now refresh each time someone opens them. For example, Shopify data can stay current next to Klaviyo campaign data without rebuilding the dashboard.

Each viewer sees data through their own connection. If a teammate hasn't connected the app, they'll be prompted to do so.

"Build a dashboard showing my Shopify products alongside their campaign performance."

Share the work and come back to it later

The final three updates cover what happens after Composer creates something: who can see the context, when Composer follows up, and how you take the work elsewhere.

Share a conversation

You can now share a Composer conversation with people in your workspace. Teammates, managers, and agency partners can see the full back-and-forth and the references Composer used, which is much more useful than a folder of screenshots.

Click Share in the Composer header, set access to your workspace, and copy the link.

A few details to know:

  • What's included: Messages up to the moment you share. You can update the link later to include newer messages.

  • What viewers can do: Read the conversation. They can't continue it yet.

  • What stays hidden: Campaign, flow, and segment previews.

Set a one-time reminder

Ask Composer to come back to the same conversation at a time you choose. Because the context stays with the thread, the follow-up can include a draft, proposal, or report instead of a generic nudge.

"Remind me in 30 minutes to review the campaign draft we discussed."

"Next Monday, report how much revenue this campaign generated and compare it with our previous send."

Download a real file

Artifacts can now produce a file you can take with you. Download a dashboard as a PDF or a deck as a PowerPoint, then share it with someone who doesn't log in to Klaviyo.

"Build a dashboard of last month's campaign performance and make it downloadable as a PDF."

What will you try first?

The fastest way to get better at Composer is to see what other marketers are trying, then test a version in your own account. If you want a lower-stakes starting point, Champion Alice Michael recommends beginning with a flow audit instead of a new campaign.

Pick one prompt above and share three things in the Composer category:

  • The prompt you used

  • What Composer produced

  • One thing you'd keep or change

Which update are you putting to work first?
