We are replatforming a client from Salesforce CC to Shopify. Item SKUs will stay the same, but of course product IDs and URLs will change. They do have notify me when back in stock flows set up for Salesforce now.

Questions:

  1. Once we set up the Shopify integration and sync inventory, and before disconnecting SF from Klaviyo, will current BIS customers be notified of changes in Shopify inventory for the same SKUs? Or will they only be notified when SF inventory changes.
  2. Once SF is disconnected from Klaviyo, will current BIS records need to be remapped? If so how is that done?

Hi @Avexdesigns,

Welcome to the community!

As far as I know, there’s no automatic way to migrate the Back In Stock (BIS) subscriptions from Salesforce to Klaviyo.  So you will have to do this programmatically with Klaviyo.  Klaviyo has an API endpoint where you can do this - so you would have to create a process to map your current Salesforce Back In Stock Subscribers and the product they are waiting for, to the proper Variant ID in your new Shopify Product Catalog and then run them through one by one in a script or process to “Subscribe” them to be notified.

Documentation is here:

Klaviyo observes/monitors stock counts if you track inventory in Shopify, so long as a user is subscribed to the correct product (defined in your product catalog), then it should work.

Also, don’t forget to build out your Back in Stock Flow since that is the Flow that is triggered when your inventory replenishes.

Hope this helps!
