To set up your first flow, start with the basics:

1. Choose a trigger (for example: someone joins your list → Welcome Flow, someone abandons cart → Abandonment Flow).

2. Add steps (email → delay → another email → SMS if you like).

3. Think follow-up: make sure each step has a clear goal (welcome = introduce your brand, abandon cart = remind & offer incentive, post-purchase = thank & encourage review).

Once you get one flow live, you’ll start seeing how powerful Klaviyo can be. Don’t try to build everything at once start with welcome and abandoned cart, then expand.”

In addition to Blessing’s suggestions, I wanted to offer some tips on setting up the SMS welcome pop-up. 

I assume you’re trying to add a sign-up form to your site that collects SMS numbers and consent from your site visitors, correct? If so, the first step is going to be getting SMS set up for your account. If you collect phone numbers before you actually have an SMS sending number, those numbers you collect won’t have SMS consent, and you wont be able to send SMS messages to them.

Take a look at this guide here. It explains how to set up SMS in Klaviyo. Once you’ve done that, I’d recommend checking to see if your store is integrated with Klaviyo. Are you using a Shopify store, another integration, or a custom setup? Either way, you’ll need to ensure that your site is connected to Klaviyo, and our Javascript is embedded on your site. For Shopify, one of the most common integrations, you’ll just need to go to your Shopify settings in Klaviyo and enable the app embed.

After you’ve done this, you’re ready to set up your form. Follow this guide, if you’re looking to create a tap-to-text form that collects SMS consent!
