Unable to activate branded sending domain

I added a branded sending domain and successfully updated the DNS records. Klaviyo sent me a notification stating that the domain was verified and available for activation. However, when I clicked the "Activate your domain" link, the page simply refreshed and nothing happened.
 


Even after waiting for several hours, the domain still didn't appear under "Settings" → "Domains." When I tried to add the same domain again, I received an error message:
"This branded sending domain already exists and has a routing type of dynamic. Please change the routing type to dynamic or use a different sending domain."
 


Should I continue waiting, or did something go wrong with the setup process?

Hey ​@kenwang,

Do you know if you have another Klaviyo account using the same domain as a branded sending domain? Also, does your domain currently have any other DNS records that you’re not using, that may be interfering with the domain verification? There’s also a chance that nothing is technically wrong, and the domain is just taking some time to verify. While verification usually takes minutes, we’ve seen rare cases where a branded sending domain is successfully verified after a couple days. 

Let me know if this issue is still occurring, or if you still need help after checking the above!

Do you know if you have another Klaviyo account using the same domain as a branded sending domain? Also, does your domain currently have any other DNS records that you’re not using, that may be interfering with the domain verification? There’s also a chance that nothing is technically wrong, and the domain is just taking some time to verify. While verification usually takes minutes, we’ve seen rare cases where a branded sending domain is successfully verified after a couple days.

@kenwang who is your DNS provider is it by any chance also GoDaddy?

@Byrne C I am facing a similar issue with one of my clients where we went through the wizard and its been days and we are not seeing any updates.  In fact if I navigate to https://www.klaviyo.com/settings/account/domains I see the “Add Domain” button as if we did nothing.  Wouldn’t it show any indication in the UI if it was pending?

Hi all, I am having a similar issue. I have verified my domain but when i go to activate it it will not allow me to click on the activate button. See screenshot. Any advise would be great.

Hey all. When experiencing these issues after adding the records into your DNS provider, are you seeing these records propagating when checking with 3rd party sites like MXtoolbox or whatsmydns.net? If other, non-Klaviyo tools are showing the same issues, then the issue would be with your DNS provider. That being said, if these other tools are recognizing your DNS records, I’d recommend reaching out to our support team to see why they’re not propagating in Klaviyo.
