I’ve recently taken on a few new clients and have been focused on growing their lists with limited starting resources, so I just wanted to share some of my tried and true tactics to help boost that growth spurt! Let’s dive in. Opt-in Opportunities First and foremost, I always tell customers to start at the bottom of the sales funnel and work their way up. This holds true for ads, websites, and even email. For email, I would encourage new clients to make sure they are giving customers every opportunity to opt in. This includes opt-ins during checkout, back-in-stock notifications, and SMS. In my experience, I personally think collecting SMS opt-in right away is a good thing, even if you're not planning on using SMS in the immediate future. SMS requires some more legal hoops to jump through so it takes a little longer to collect those opt-ins, which means if you want to see growth, you’ve got to get started now! 💡 Idea: How we increased our new visitor form sign-up rate by 60%

Hey!With traffic acquisition becoming more expensive on FB, it’s become super important that we try to get qualified traffic into our owned ecosystem - either through a purchase or get their contact info (email, phone) while on the site.One area we’ve put a focus recently is the latter - getting their email address. Our primary way of getting that email was through a first time visitor pop-up. We were able to increase our opt-in rate from 3.5 - 5% on average to 8 - 9% by using a micro-commitment before the ask. Screenshot of our Klaviyo pop-up opt-in rate since the last week of December. We made the change mid-week for Jan 10. Linking to Costco.com: URL encoded parameters

Posting this as a PSA for anyone else who runs across this issue in the future and (fingers crossed) generate some momentum for the Klaviyo eng team to make an update for this edge case. TLDR: Linking to Costco’s website via a Klaviyo email campaign does not work unless you disable the global account setting “Email to website tracking” because of some Costco server-side security.That setting can be disabled by going to Settings > Email > Attribution.Longer version:I went to send an email about a new product we have listed on Costco.com but repeatedly got server errors on Costco’s site when I tested the link out of Klaviyo. This was with the campaign UTM tracking disabled (this will be important in a second).From Klaviyo, the Costco link is appended the following URL parameter from our account: ?_kx=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP%3D%3D.UHFmv9 . This is added because the global account setting "Email to website tracking" is enabled.This URL, while correct, causes an error on the Costco servers.

Upgrade your personalization in Klaviyo Templates: By now, I think we've all mastered the "Hello {First Name}" personalization feature on Klaviyo. It's always funny when it's sometimes implemented wrong and you literally see the word "First Name" in the email. I think it's time to upgrade personalization beyond just "First Name." Looking through dozens of Klaviyo accounts by now, one of the most powerful but underutilized feature of Klaviyo is the Show/Hide logic block in templates. The Show/Hide logic let's you show or hide a Block or Section of your template if it matches certain conditional logic.
