Hi everyone,

I'm currently working with BigCommerce and Klaviyo to send abandonment emails that include unique coupon codes. I had a few questions regarding the best way to manage and replenish these codes:

  1. When updating/replenishing codes, is it sufficient to create more codes in the third-party app and add them to the existing coupon, or should I create a new coupon each time?
  2. Are the unique coupon codes sent once per recipient? If the same recipient receives a subsequent email, will they get the same code, or will a new one be generated for each email?
  3. Can these codes be automatically added to the links in the emails, similar to other types of discount codes in Klaviyo?
  4. What’s the best method for keeping on top of code replenishment? As this is a manual task, I’d prefer to handle it as efficiently as possible, but it's crucial to avoid running out of codes, as this could prevent emails from being sent. Has anyone found an effective way to monitor and manage this process?

Are there any other considerations that I might be missing or overlooking when it comes to using unique codes in abandonment emails?

Any insights or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi @GV123

Sharing some info with the community based on the guidance from support:

  1. Unique codes are only sent once per customer so only one code would be used.
  2. Since BigCommerce has complete control over their discount/coupon functionality, the recommendation is to reach out to them to determine how you might be able to apply a discount automatically. Here is some guidance from their community that might be helpful: https://support.bigcommerce.com/s/question/0D54O00006QUrD8SAL/coupon-code-url-parameter?language=en_US. Since Klaviyo does not have any functionality related to Coupons for BigCommerce, we are unfortunately not aware of what syntax would be required to automatically apply a discount code at checkout.
  3. Regarding topping up codes, once you add initial codes, you will have the option "Add Codes", you can top up from there.

If there are any other community members who have additional strategies that have been helpful, share away!
