BFCM Prep AMA: The Quick Version

Missed the BFCM Prep AMA? We’ve got you. Our CSMs and Customer Growth team covered what to do before, during, and after the big weekend. Here’s the short version.

Watch the recording: here

TL;DR

  • Now: Clean your list, audit last year, and start collecting sign-ups. Warm up your audience, and check your suppression logic so it isn’t quietly shrinking your reach.
  • Next few weeks: Find your discount sweet spot (and remember a deal doesn’t always have to be a discount). Give each channel a clear job, and QA every flow before it goes live.
  • During BFCM: Stagger your sends and check performance daily. Exclude recent buyers, and tell last year’s shoppers what to expect this time.
  • After BFCM: Plan retention before the sale ends. Pull back to engaged-only sends as soon as it wraps, and have your recovery plan ready.

Your turn 👇

BFCM is only weeks away, and the best tips usually come from people who are actually doing it. Drop a comment and tell us:

  1. What’s the one thing on this list you’re tackling first?
  2. What’s your go-to BFCM move that you’d never skip?

I'd never skip building a reusable email template with separate sections for the header, hero, offer block, product grid and footer.

Keep dates, discounts and promotional details as live text wherever possible. BFCM offers can change at the last minute, and having a modular template makes those updates much quicker than redesigning multiple emails from scratch.

I'd also add two checks before scheduling any campaign:

    • Open every email on a phone. Countdown timers, long product grids and tiny legal text are common trouble spots, especially during peak season.
    • Test with images turned off. If the main offer only appears inside an image, subscribers who don't load images might miss the most important message.

I work at Marz Media, where I focus on email design for agencies. Peak season is when a reusable, well-structured template can save a lot of time for both designers and the teams building the emails in Klaviyo.

Hi Dalia, Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this!! Those to additional checks are really helpful!! I think you’re right on the money about previewing and testing before sending. I’d be curious if you are finding Composer a resource to help you do some of those final audits before sending your campaign.

Couldn’t agree more especially during busier times of years having reusable, well-structured template can save a lot of time for everyone!

Keep those recommendations coming - love hearing what other Klaviyo users are doing to standout for BFCM and beyond!!
