Add background color to two column section

Thanks for reaching out! If I understood correctly, then yes, you can change the background color of the area containing the two columns. The setting is applied to the section, not to the individual text fields.

In the email editor:

1. Click the outer section that contains the two-column layout. Try clicking the spacing or border around the columns rather than the text or image block.

2. Open the section’s Styles tab.

3. Under Content color or Section color, choose Manual instead of Auto or None.

   

   
    

4. Select the background color you want, then preview the email on desktop and mobile.

If the section still appears white, check whether the text, image, or button blocks inside the columns have their own white background color. Block-level styles override the section style, so set those block backgrounds to transparent or None where appropriate. Also check whether the image itself contains a white background, since a section color cannot show through an opaque part of the image.

The standard Columns layout generally applies one background to the whole section. If you want a different color for each individual column, you may need to use separate sections, a table block, or a custom HTML block instead.
