Fixing Large Number of Engaged, Never Subscribed

Because of the way my customer journey and segments were set up when I first began using Klaviyo I have ended up with a rather large number of customers that are highly engaged but never actually subscribed. Now that my list is larger I’m trying to really clean it out and this is hurting my ability to manage sunset flows effectively. However this highly engaged, never subscribed segment is about 25% of my engaged segment!

So my question is, what’s the best way to get these folks to actually subscribe?

Hey @LisaRiz! The “OR been active on site” is the condition that is including all those profiles that have never subscribed to marketing. For a sunset flow, your segment conditions should be the following:

    • If someone can or cannot receive marketing > Can receive > email marketing
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > Received Email > is at least 10 > in the last 180 days
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > has Opened Email > zero times > over all time
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > has Clicked Email > zero times > over all time
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > has Placed Order > zero times > over all time
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > has Started Checkout > zero times > over all time
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > has Viewed Product > zero times > over all time
      AND
    • What someone has done (or not done) > has Active on Site > zero times > over all time

Try that and let me know if that helps narrow it down!

    Hello @LisaRiz,

I’m assuming by highly engaged, you mean active on your site?

No, I mean they open and click on emails. My engaged segment has included anyone not suppressed that has opened or clicked on email or been active on site in 90 days. I do not exclude people that have not subscribed. What I have found is that there is a large number of people highly engaged on email that ended up on my list as customers but never subscribed. Now I’m wanting to fix that so that so that I can better manage list cleaning.

    Hi @kaila.lawrence

That helps in terms of a sunset flow, but how would you go about transitioning these “Never Subscribed” but highly engaged with emails to actually “Subscribed”?

A lot of these customers have been coming via checkout, which is why they are ‘Never Subscribed’.

    Thanks.
