I wish to update the segment that triggers my VIP-flow. I'm aware that if I update the segment, subscribers that meet the new segment criteria will not automatically trigger the flow. I need to back populate the flow. But how do I make sure that subscribers who already went through my VIP-flow, don't go through it again then?

Contacts only enter a segment triggered flow once when they get added to a segment. More info on that here
I would also add a flow filter ‘has not been in the flow at any time’ too for extra security, though it may be than I’m overly cautious! Also when making changes like these, and for new flows, I always set to the flow manual first so I can review the queue.
