How do you set up a VIP tier flow?

Hi guys,

I recently came across a question here about “What's the best method to make a VIP flow (segments VS event based) ?

Our VIP has 4 tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

So, I created an event-based flow for our VIP, but I am not sure if I’m on the right path. My client said maybe we should just create separate flows for different tiers. So there will be 4 flows in total. Do you guys think I should just separate the flows for each tier? Should I keep the flow I created below?

Note: This flow is just a draft and planning to add 3-4 emails for each tier. I also want to know if my triggers and splits are correct.

Hey @kathleenkcu

Yes this is correct. its easier to manage one flow with the correct splits than to have multiple flow for each. I would have one flow anyday. if you want to split based on the latest fulfilled order value for the latest placed order through which they entered this flow than you need to use “Trigger split” instead of conditional split,

however, if you want to split based on fulfilled order value over all time then, you should use conditional split (which I believe you want from your screenshot and since its VIP flow). So this setup is correct.

Hi @kathleenkcu, adding on to @ArpitBanjara comments:

Which loyalty platform are you using?

You might be able to use a custom property value of their Tier level instead of using the Fulfilled Purchase value/amount instead - that might make it more precise and if you ever change those thresholds, you don’t have to change it here in the Flow.

Also, some loyalty platforms will send an event (Trigger) when someone moves up (or down) a Tier, and you can use that as the Trigger instead of “Placed Order”

Hello @retention

We do not have a loyalty platform right now. We are still looking into it. Do you have any suggestions? We looked into Smile.io but I think the features are very limited, which is why we are sticking with emails right now.

I would suggest Yotpo as well for the loyalty program
