Hi - I’m a newbie with Klaviyo and would appreciate some help on accessibility.

I added an email sign-up pop-up and a teaser that shows before and after the form is closed. I was testing my site for accessibility and unfortunately I can’t re-open the sign-up form from the teaser when navigating the site only through the keyboard. I can close the teaser though. Is this because the teaser needs to be double clicked on to bring back the pop-up? How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Skye

Interesting question! I can only clarify that the teaser is single click to open the pop-up, and not double click.

I can navigate to select the teaser on a keyboard with tab (or shift/tab) and close with Esc but I wasn’t able to activate the pop up from the teaser using enter, which is what you’ve found.

Sorry I can’t be of more help on your accessibility issue. Hopefully another on the forum can help you with that.

Regards

Hey @Skye25,

Thanks for bringing this up! Our team is aware that it’s currently not possible to open a form by pressing enter on the teaser, and we recognize that having this feature is important in ensuring our forms are accessible. We’re working to make this a possibility in the future!

Hi @Skye25 – my company is currently working on accessibility on our site so this has been top of mind for me! Since there’s unfortunately no way to make the pop-up open by pressing enter, I definitely recommend having clear links to sign up for emails in both the header and the footer, and if possible even a widget for signing up directly from the footer. Hopefully Klaviyo can make the pop-up more accessible but in the mean-time, having other accessible ways to sign up for email can’t hurt!
