Porting Over Short Code from Attentive

Hey Community :)

Thinking of switching to Klaviyo for SMS and will be starting the process of porting my short code. My question is, during this 4-week-long process, will I still be able to send SMS campaigns out via Attentive? I realize I should probably ask my CSM over there but wanted to put it to the Klaviyo forum in case someone has gone through this.

Ty!

    Hello @Denise_Butalid,

    Great question!

After starting the porting process of your number, you can still actively be sending SMS via your existing SMS provider (Attentive) up until the port request is actually completed! When your port request is completed, a member of our SMS team will reach out to you informing you of the completion of the port request. At which point you’ll want to stop sending from your previous SMS provider.

But until that point feel free to send as normal!

If you haven’t already, I would suggest checking out our recent AMA (Ask me Anything) pertaining to SMS where we sat down with some of our in-house SMS experts for some best practice suggestions!

    Happy sending!
