Question

Sign up foprm not loading on shopify since early Sep (app embed enabled)

My popup forms stopped displaying around 6 September. Viewed Form events were 50–160 a week before that and have been zero since, even though the store gets steady traffic.

Already checked:

  • Form is Live, and I've also created and published a brand new form. Neither displays.
  • Shopify integration is enabled with the correct store URL, and the account matches.
  • Klaviyo app embed is enabled on the live theme. I've toggled it off and on.
  • Cookies and consent settings are fine.
  • Theme code has no conflicts. A theme's built-in popup on the same site works fine.
  • Tested on multiple devices in normal (non-private) browsers.

The issue began around a run of theme publishes in late August. What else could stop the Klaviyo onsite script from loading?

Hey Flossy,

you definitely done your research. If you already checked all those points then the only thing I could think of is to check who you showing it to. If you only showing it to a specific audience or if there are any “Dont show on” settings preventing it from showing up.

And did you check if you still get normal behavioral events? Like active on site, viewed product,… Cause if they are coming you at least know that the basic javascript is working (which is necessary to show forms).

Hey @Flossy

@Nick’s tracking events check is a good first step. My best guess is that one of those theme publishes brought back an old pasted-in copy of Klaviyo’s script. That script (klaviyo.js) is what shows your forms, and Klaviyo’s form troubleshooting article says only one account’s script should be on a site. An older thread here says when two copies load, the second one gets skipped. If the old copy belongs to a different Klaviyo account and loads first, I think yours never runs. Not 100% sure though.

open your store in Chrome, right-click, pick view page source and search for klaviyo.js. Each copy has a public API key in it, a short code saying which account it belongs to. Yours is under your account name, then Settings > API keys (steps). If one isn’t yours, delete it from the theme code. Klaviyo recommends keeping only the app embed, the Klaviyo toggle in Shopify’s theme editor.

If all you find is your own code, contact Klaviyo Support, since as a community member I can’t see your account. let me know what did you find?

I hope this helps and thank you for sharing your question here in the community.
Cheers
Arpit.
