When someone sign up and join a list,
in the activity log I see: "Subscribed to Email Marketing" AND "Subscribed to "lists name".
What is the difference and why is shows it in different order for every new subscriber?
Thanks.

Hello @Shira. journal cards,

When someone signs up, "Subscribed to Email Marketing" means they’ve opted into marketing emails at the account level, while "Subscribed to dList Name]" indicates they were added to a specific list.

Both actions are logged simultaneously, but the order may vary due to how Klaviyo processes them.

This doesn’t affect functionality, as both confirm the subscriber's consent and list addition.

Best Regards,

Hello @Shira. journal cards ,
The difference lies in the subscription types and how Klaviyo logs them:

  • "Subscribed to Email Marketing" indicates that the user has agreed to receive marketing emails, typically tied to their overall profile.
  • "Subscribed to tlist name]" shows that they have been added to a specific list, which might trigger list-specific flows or campaigns.

The order can vary because the system logs events as they occur. If the user signs up via a form linked to a list, Klaviyo might process either action first, depending on system timing. Both logs confirm the user is subscribed successfully.

Hello @Shira. journal cards thanks for sharing your problem here

like what @MANSIR2094 and @Amos Peace says there are right about that, just follow the step

When someone signs up, "Subscribed to Email Marketing" means they've agreed to get marketing emails, and "Subscribed to uList Name]" means they've been added to a specific list. The order can change because of how Klaviyo processes things in real-time, but it doesn't affect the outcome. Both just show that the person is now signed up for emails and added to the list.

when you are still facing the same problem kindly send me a message i will be glad to help you  out
