BFCM Readiness Exchange: Share your advice and progress

BFCM readiness

The Black Friday Cyber Monday countdown is getting real. If you've checked your readiness score in the BFCM Hub, you already know what to work on next. This thread is where you find out how other marketers are working on the same things.

Here's how it works

Pick the stage that sounds most like you right now, answer that prompt, and start your reply with your stage so marketers at the same point can find you.

Getting started 🎬 What's the first BFCM task you're tackling, or what feels most overwhelming right now?
Making progress 💪 What's the biggest thing standing between you and feeling BFCM-ready?
Almost ready 💡 Which BFCM decision are you still debating?
Feeling ready 🎉 What's one prep step you'd tell another marketer not to skip?

Then reply to someone at a different stage than you. A marketer just getting started gets a lot out of hearing what you'd do differently, and a marketer who's nearly done can pressure-test a plan faster with a fresh set of eyes.

A few ground rules

  • You don't need to share your score. Your stage is plenty.
  • Keep customer data and account details out of your replies.
  • Share what you're doing and why. Tradeoffs and "here's what didn't work" are just as useful as wins.

BFCM Tip of the Week

Each week, we'll feature the reply that helped another marketer the most on the Community homepage. The most helpful advice gets the spotlight, whatever stage it comes from.

Need something more specific?

  • Checklist or setup guidance: Start with your personalized plan in the BFCM Hub.
  • A how-to question about Klaviyo: Bring it to the next CSM BFCM AMA.
  • A strategic decision you want to talk through: Join Champion Coaching.

I’ll go first 👋 I’m in the “Making progress” camp on the Community side of BFCM. The bigger plan is in place, and now I’m working through the week-by-week details like what we want to spotlight, which conversations to kick off, and how everything connects back to the BFCM resources and events we have planned.

How about you? Pick the stage that feels most like where you are right now and tell us what’s on your BFCM to-do list. Bonus points if there’s one thing you’re still trying to figure out because we can help each other out.

Feeling pretty ready on the design side! One thing I'd recommend is building and testing your reusable BFCM sections before the final offers are confirmed.

I work at Marz Media, where we design emails for agencies, and having these sections ready can save a lot of last-minute stress. I'd prepare the hero, product grid, offer banner or countdown, and footer as reusable modules.

I'd test each one in three ways:

  • Dark mode: Make sure logos, text, and image backgrounds remain easy to see.

  • Mobile: Check that the main offer and CTA are easy to find without too much scrolling.

  • Gmail clipping: Keep an eye on the HTML size, since Gmail may clip larger emails, hiding part of the message or the footer.

Once the offer is approved, you're swapping in the final content rather than designing everything from scratch. That makes last-minute changes much easier to handle.
