Upsell flow recommending specific products based on the customer's previous order

Question

Hey, I’m trying to create a flow where we recommend specific products based on the customer’s last order. We offer customers the ability to select three free samples with each order. I want to create an upsell flow that recommends the full-sized versions of the three samples the customer ordered. So, if a customer ordered sample product x, sample product y, and sample product z, the upsell flow would link specifically to full sized product x, full sized product y, and full sized product z.

I can’t see how to do this with dynamic blocks, given that I need the email to populate three unique specific recommendations - unless I’m not understanding something!

I realize this may need to involve custom html block. We use Shopify, and all of our samples have the type “sample” and a custom metafield custom.samples_fsp with the corresponding full sized product’s title inputted.

Hi ​@tcm!Thank you for reaching out to the Community! Happy to provide a potential solution for your above question.I think the best way to accomplish this would be to add a different image blockof each full size product that has a corresponding sample size product. Then, you can add show/hide logic to each block, and reference the Placed Order event data to determine which product is included in the Placed Order. For example, if the order includes Sample Product A, then show full size Product A. This will result in the email showing images of each full size item that corresponds with the sample items they purchased. Please note, these emails will need to be within a flow that is triggered by the Placed Order metric!I hope this helps!
