Google Annotations - on some emails with drag-and-drop editor?

We sent 12 emails over our BF period and two of these showed in my gmail account with Google Annotations previews. I only ever use the drag-and-drop editor.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any clues as to why an email might display in this way and others don’t?

Thank you!

Hi @MMacca,

Interesting that Google Annotations appeared for a couple of the emails you sent to your Gmail. You mentioned that you built this email using the drag-and-drop editor, but at any point, did you or anyone on your team edit the source code of a text block or add an HTML block that allowed Google to see annotations? This article, by Google, explains how to add code to your emails that add annotations, and can technically be done in text/HTML blocks in the drag and drop editor.

Additionally, were these templates you used uploaded to Klaviyo from your device, or a 3rd party?

Thanks for the reply @Byrne C! I’m the only one who edits and I only do it via drag-and-drop - never been brave enough to try html block stuff! And it’s just me working on Klaviyo, no third parties. It’s a real mystery as to why a few emails have shown with Google Annotations!

@MMacca,

Gotcha, thanks for letting me know! I’d recommend reaching out to our support team at Klaviyo.com/support, so we can look into it further. We have a help article that mentions what needs to be done in Klaviyo for these annotations to appear, and if you look it over and are confident that you haven’t taken any of the steps, our team can take a look at the source code of the email to figure out why this may be happening. This might be a Gmail issue, rather than a Klaviyo issue, but we’d be happy to look into it to confirm.

That’s great, I’ll raise it with support. Thanks @Byrne C
