Question

Klaviyo just sent out a random email, that was not scheduled, and with random images of candles. We sell watches.

Hi @grifithwatches,

Welcome to the Klaviyo community, and thanks for posting this question.

Klaviyo sends out emails using one of 3 methods:

  • Campaigns (one-time messages that you send to a group of people)
  • Flows (automations that you set up that send people messages after they take a certain action, or a certain event occurs)
  • Double opt-in emails (emails asking potential subscribers to confirm their subscriptions).

If you haven’t set up any campaigns or flows, and haven’t edited your double opt-in email, then it wouldn’t be possible for an email like this to be sent out. I’d recommend re-checking your campaigns and flows tab. Do you have any recently sent campaigns, or live flows? If so, take a look at the email templates that the messages use, and you’ll most likely find the email with candle images among those templates.

I’m assuming that a flow was set up, and one of the emails is still using the default email template, and hasn’t been changed yet to match your branding.

There are no campaigns or flows associated with this email or the title of the email. A campaign did go out but has a completely different title and images. I don't even know how candle images could have got put into our profile.

Hi @grifithwatches,

In that case, I’d recommend reaching out to our support team at klaviyo.com/support so they can investigate this issue. The only other reason for this I can think of is if you have another Klaviyo account that’s sending emails from your domain, although that’s unlikely. Either way, I can confirm it’s not possible for emails to send from your account if those emails weren’t set up by a user on the account, so our team can definitely look into this to find the email in question!
