"Hello everyone,

I’ve sent emails from a newly set-up Klaviyo account, and 5 out of 6 emails bounced back 😐 (2 of them were my own email addresses (Gmail & Outlook)). and i don’t even get newsletter confirmation E-Mail when subscribe

  • The branded send domain is already set up.
  • Double-opt In On
  • the account ist not upgraded yet

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how I can fix the issue? Thanks in advance for your help!"

Hello @Marou

It seems the issue might be related to email authentication or list quality. Ensure your DNS settings (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) are correctly configured for the branded send domain. Test your setup with email authentication tools to verify alignment. If emails to your own addresses bounce, the IP or domain reputation may need review—this could happen with free accounts. For the newsletter confirmation, check if the double opt-in email is properly configured in Klaviyo and not landing in spam. Upgrading your account might also help improve deliverability by gaining access to better support and resources.

Hi @Marou

Thank you for posting in the Community!

It sounds like you're encountering deliverability issues right after setting up a new Klaviyo account. Here's a step-by-step plan to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Verify the sending domain setup:

  • Check DNS Records: Ensure that the SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are correctly configured for the branded sending domain. If there’s a typo or incomplete setup, emails might fail to deliver.
    • In Klaviyo, go to Account Settings > Domains & Hosting and confirm the domain status.
    • Use tools like MXtoolbox or Glockapps to validate your DNS records.

Since double-opt-in is enabled, confirm that:

  • The confirmation email template is correctly set up in Klaviyo.
  • The "From Email Address" in the template matches the verified sending domain.

Quick checklist:

  1. Confirm SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records.
  2. Check double-opt-in template and "From Email" address.
  3. Test emails with different providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo). You can check in the about e-mail section, when receiving an e-mail.
  4. Avoid sending bulk emails until domain warm-up is complete.
  5. Upgrade the account for better deliverability.

Hope that helps! :-)
