Hi all

I have searched but am not 100% sure that I am reading the right posts.

I was wondering if there is a big difference between creating an email in Klaviyo or having one designed and imported as an image?

I know some of the mechanics of using an image but would they hurt or improve a campaign?

Any examples of them in use?

Thanks

Hi @ScousePeanut,

Would you mind providing a little more information on what you mean when you mention having an email designed and then imported as an image? From my understanding of your question, it looks like you’re asking about image-based emails, specifically whether it’s better to design an image-based email entirely in Klaviyo, or to import an HTML template of an image-based email. Is that correct?

While I’ll let other community members/champions speak on how much success they’ve had via each method, I do have a few thoughts to share.

In general, images like when an email is a combination of images and text, rather than entirely image-based, because some spam emails are very image heavy, and an inbox might think that a legitimate email that’s image heavy is similar to spam emails they see, and then get suspicious. That being said, if you are looking to create image-based emails, we highly recommend adding alt-text to each image. Not only is that best for accessibility, but it also is a signal to inboxes that your email is unlikely to be spam. With that in mind, if you are designing an HTML email outside of Klaviyo, just be sure to add alt text.

Let me know if I can offer any additional insight, or if you have any more questions!
