I’m planning to switch my branded sending domain, but I don’t want my deliverability to drop.

How can I run two domains in parallel in Klaviyo so I can warm up the new one while keeping the old one active?

Specifically:

  • Can I add a new sending domain without removing the old one?

  • Is it possible to choose which domain to send from on a per-campaign or per-flow basis?

  • What’s the best way to split sending (marketing vs. transactional) during the warm-up phase?

  • Do I need to set up separate sending profiles for each domain?

  • How do I gradually increase volume from the new domain inside Klaviyo?

Hi @beingbsal,

Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, at this time, it’s not possible to have two branded sending domains in Klaviyo. Apologies for this. To clarify your first two questions above, in order for a new domain to be added, the previous branded sending domain must be removed, and your branded sending domain will apply to all emails sent through Klaviyo - flows and campaigns alike.

The good news is that you actually won’t have to warm a new sending domain as long as the root domain of your new Branded Sending Domain has been registered for at least 30 days, and you’ve used this domain to send emails already. Basically, if you’ve been sending emails with your root domain for a while, there isn’t a need to warm your new sending domain. Reference:
