🚨New sender requirements are coming from Google & Yahoo next year🚨

Google and Yahoo recently announced new email sender requirements that are going into effect in February 2024.We understand that there’s a lot to digest when it comes to these changes - and we’re here to help. How to segment on consent

We’re excited to announce an intuitive way to segment on someone’s current ability to receive email, SMS, or mobile push marketing and how it happened. This brings all our new, more granular email marketing consent fields to segmentation. For a quick refresher, check out this community post! What is it? We’ve updated our segmentation conditions for marketing consent with more intuitive language and added new fields so you can further refine your audience based on how they became able (or unable) to receive marketing.  Simplified segment conditions There is now one condition called “If someone can or cannot receive marketing”, which is the new way to filter for:“If someone is or is not suppressed for email” “If someone is or is not consented to receive SMS” “If someone has a push token” Automatically updated segments  This update only changes the language used in your segment definition. Adding past profiles to flows has never been easier

We’re excited to announce improvements to adding past profiles in Flows! Add Past Profiles (formerly known as “Backpopulation”) allows you to queue people for flow actions retroactively. It’s most commonly used when you set a new flow live but want to queue contacts that would have qualified had the flow existed earlier. Adding past profiles ensures that you hit every eligible past contact with the right message, at the right point in time.  What’s NewBackpopulation is now called “Add Past Profiles” to clearly reflect functionality and eliminate confusion. You’ll see an “Add Past Profiles” button in the top right of the flow builder  While the functionality for adding past profiles (or backpopulating) remains the same, you’ll now see a clearer set of options for how profiles will be added to the flow. This makes it easier to confidently add past profiles into your flow Clearer distinctions between what makes a past profile eligible for this function along with where they will be added

Inactive SMS Programs - the risks of communicating with your SMS subscribers too little

When it comes to text message marketing, nearly every service provider and industry professional can agree that messaging your subscribers too frequently is a proven recipe for disaster. Consumers are not likely to stay subscribed to your program for long if your messages start delivering more annoyance than value to their lives. Upgrades to our segmentation system

We’re excited to announce performance improvements to our segmentation engine! Over the next few days, we will be rolling out upgraded segmentation to all accounts.What is it?Accounts will now have access to an upgraded segment experience that includes the following changes: Faster, more consistent segment creation for complex segments and accounts with a large number of profiles. Improved real-time updates to segments (expect just a few minutes between a profile qualifying for a segment and being added to it, down from >20 minutes previously). A segment loading screen that more accurately represents segment processing status. Improvements to our segment criteria evaluation to reduce ambiguity and produce more accurate segments. We made changes to how we handle profile properties that are not set. Klaviyo-hosted fonts alternative to Google Fonts

At Klaviyo, we strive to set our customers up for success with best practices and options, such as the fonts you use on your website. Currently, Klaviyo offers several Google Fonts to use in sign-up forms, consent pages, and emails. Google Fonts is a web font service hosted by Google that offers an API to collect font requests from users, fetch the files from its servers, and deliver them to the end users to produce fonts. In this process, Google’s server needs the receiver’s IP address to deliver the fonts. According to the GDPR, an IP address qualifies as personal information, which can be used to identify the user. Note that by including Google Fonts in your font library, you are deemed to be using Google Fonts. As an alternative, we are providing a selection of fonts hosted in Klaviyo to use in your sign-up forms, consent pages, and emails.  If you are an existing customer, and do not wish to use Google Fonts, please follow the steps outlined below to update the fonts in your sign-

I sell skincare products and want to create a workflow that sends an email to my existing customers. A reminder to stock up on the products they have purchased in the past. I would like the emails to populate the products that were purchased in the past. For example: " Are you running low on your blank cleanser? (shows a picture of the product they purchased before) buy today so you don't run out".
