I am only shipping to U.S. customers right now since I’m still pretty fresh with my dropshipping business. With that said, I’ve done my absolute best to A: Find a supplier that provides as many products that I need for my store to ship from the U.S. so shipping times are as minimal as possible, and B: I wasn’t successful with every product, but any that ship from China to the U.S., I’ve ensured the sources ship to the U.S. in the least amount of time.

 

But I want to create an email flow that is triggered anytime a product that ships from China is purchased, in order to inform my customers that the product they chose will take longer that other products on my site. As simple as this task may seem, I haven’t had any luck finding anything with the creation tools in Klaviyo that could do this or have seen any type of option that I might be able to skew, but for the sake of not just giving up on this, could anyone give me any kind of tip on how to utilize the flow creation to do this for me, or does anyone know if this can even be done in Klaviyo?

Yes, it can be done. There are a couple of ways to achieve this using a flow triggered either by the Shopify ‘Placed order event or one triggered by the ‘Ordered product’ event:

  1. Flow triggered by the Shopify ‘placed order’ event. Add a trigger filter to your flow ‘Items contains’ and then select a product from China from the dropdown list. That product will appear as an option if anyone has placed an order for that product. If not, you can add it manually but that can be error prone as it must match exactly the name of the product. Repeat this trigger filter with OR for all your China products. Only profiles who have placed an order for any products from China will enter the flow.
  2. Flow triggered by the Shopify ‘ordered product’ event. Add a Shopify tag of ‘China’ to all products that will ship from that country (on their product page admin). Then add a trigger filter to your flow ‘Tags contains’ and then ‘China’ from the dropdown list. As above that option will appear if anyone has placed an order for a product with that tag , or you can add it manually. Only profiles who have placed an order for any product with a Shopify tag of ‘China’ will enter the flow.

I’d personally go with option 2 as it’s easier. As always, preview the profiles that would enter the flow and test before you go live!
