I have created a custom property for my list, but when I import a small batch of contacts from another list, the custom property does not appear in the listi of properties to map. So eventually I have to input the custom property values by hand. Anyone has an idea how to force Klaviyo to show my custom property so I can map it to my imported values?
Hello nikosdra,
It sounds like the custom property you created isn't recognized during the mapping process. This can happen if the property isn't pre-configured correctly in Klaviyo or if there's a mismatch in naming conventions.
To resolve this:
- Ensure the custom property is correctly set up in your Klaviyo account before importing the list.
- Confirm that the column name in your imported file matches the exact name of the custom property.
- If it's still not appearing, try importing a single contact with that property first to trigger Klaviyo to recognize it.
If you would like, I can help you implement this seamlessly and bring your vision to life by optimizing your setup for smoother operations. Feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to assist!"
thanks again
Thank you for your response, and I’m glad to assist! Here's how you can ensure the custom property is correctly set up in Klaviyo:
- Log into Klaviyo: Navigate to the Profiles tab.
- Check an Existing Profile: Click on any profile and scroll down to the "Custom Properties" section.
- Add a New Custom Property: Manually add the property by clicking "Add Property", then input the name and a sample value.
- Save the Changes: This step ensures Klaviyo recognizes the property for future imports.
- Test It: Import one contact with the custom property in your file and check if it appears correctly in the profile.
If these steps seem tricky or unclear, I would be happy to guide you through them step-by-step or even set it up for you. Just let me know what works best!
Thank you! That’s exactly how I setup the first custom property that was not recognised during import. Now maybe I’ll have to create another one, but hopefully this time will work differently although the process won’t change.
I will let you know, thanks again
You're very welcome, Nikosdra! I'm glad the explanation helped. Creating a new custom property might resolve the issue, especially if there was an unnoticed error the first time.
If you run into any challenges or need further assistance during the process, feel free to reach out—I’m here to help!
Wishing you the best with your setup. Let me know how it goes!
