"Full-width on mobile" in text box not deleting extra padding on mobile view

Thanks @Keith-o. Unfortunately my attempts to elevate this as a bug went nowhere. After some back and forth with support, this was brushed off as “this was always the intent”.Support also told me to use the table block instead, as “the only way to remove the left and right padding in mobile”. However, the text in the table block does not respect the mobile text styles assigned in the styles tab, making it appear at the desktop size on all devices. So you’re out of luck unless you use inline styles for mobile breakpoints. (this itself is also a bug-worthy issue for the table block if you ask me) Huge miss in my opinion. Something called “full-width on mobile” should just work as expected.

Hi @Taylor Tarpley Thanks for the response. I’ve been in contact with Support all along. And they’ve told me that a bug that’s related to how images with borders looked when full-width on mobile is selected has been “fixed”, and this new behavior is a byproduct of it.That’s all good, but I think the whole full-width on mobile doesn’t even make sense anymore. Toggling it on has literally no effect on the mobile layout of the text box.When I enable full width on mobile on say, the horizontal rule element, the line goes all the way from left to right. So it’s natural to expect the same behavior from the text box as well. Am I wrong?Thanks, -oo

How to use responsive image maps in the campaign editor

Hi @david.to. Thanks for the response.I understand that there are limitations with image maps. May I ask then; what is Klaviyo’s recommended method for adding multiple links in image based emails? Should we be using the outdated approach of sliced images in tables? I tried using absolute-positioned, percentage based a tags (see below), which work great, and responsive. However no luck in Gmail; for some reason it doesn’t like the code. New Template Editor – Am I the only one seeing a lot of bugs?

Hi @Taylor Tarpley. Thank you for your response. I hope I didn’t have a negative tone in my comments. The new editor is great actually; it’s just a bit buggy though The worst issue at this point is that I cannot use a custom subject line in any of the emails using templates created with the new editor. This is a blocker, and I hoping it gets fixed soon (I also created a support ticket about this)Also thanks for pointing out the feedback tool. Happy to submit more observations – I’m actually a UX designer and I work with QA teams pretty closely

New Template Editor – Am I the only one seeing a lot of bugs?

More things I’ve noticed todayIf you create a new campaign that uses a template created in the new editor, the preview email’s subject line shows the name of the template instead of the actual subject line! I simply cannot make sure the campaign will go with a proper subject anymore. On the review page I get this alert: ‘We couldn't find an unsubscribe link in your email. Klaviyo will automatically add an unsubscribe link when sending the email if you don't add one.’ There is clearly an unsubscribe link in our footer, so I have no idea it’s not seeing it. Link styles are ignored in Gmail – wasn’t the case before the new editorThis is a bit depressing. -oo

Thanks for the response @Taylor Tarpley. My use case is exactly the example I gave, only with a lot more countries. I am trying to target all those non-EU countries, plus EU subscribers who have consented, all in a SINGLE segment.  I guess I could use two different segments like you suggested, but then every time we send an email, we will have to add both segments in the ‘send to’ field, right? Not a huge deal, but just one more thing that we can accidentally forget and miss.    -oo

Hi @david.to Thank you for the detailed explanation. I did check the site and yes, I see two instances of company_id, with the same account ID. They’re in very close proximity, but I guess still considered duplicates, right?The interesting thing is that I did not manually install the Klaviyo.js snippet. I’m only using the “automatically add...” setting in Shopify integration settings. So I’m not sure what could be causing the duplicate. Any ideas?Thanks,–Onur

@hansen just following up on this. The new SVG icon looks nice and crisp. But still the pale, non-ADA colors. And I haven’t seen any options to customize it. It would be great to have a specific class on that close button so that we can at least override the styles in CSS. Though maybe I’m missing something. LMK.Thanks, -oo

How reliable is location targeting in signup forms

Hi @Dov Thanks for the response. Are you basically saying there’s no scenario where these two forms would be displayed at the same? And that Klaviyo will always detect/assign a location to every profile? Even VPN users, or anything that hides their IP.Thanks, -oo

Hi @Dov Thanks for filing a feature proposal for this. However, while a “customizable close button” is a feature that may or may not be addressed at some point, the fact that the close icon is blurry (1x) and non-ADA gray is a defect, and needs to be reported as an actual bug/issue ticket. That way I’m hoping it would get fixed sooner than a feature. Make sense?Thanks,-oo

Hi @Dov.Maybe I wasn’t clear; I am talking about the close button in the upper right corner. There’s no way to customize that, is there? Again, it’s a very small (low-res) light gray PNG (not ADA compliant). It should really an SVG with customizable colors. I just hope I’m missing something.Thanks, -oo

How to exclude users who signed up during checkout (Shopify) from welcome flows

Hi @david.to and @Bobi N. Thanks for the responses. Just to be clear, @david.to you’re saying I should have multiple flow filters, each checking for a form ID, which makes sense, but because we have a bunch of forms on the site (popups for mobile and desktop, embeds in two places, GDPR versions of all of them etc.), maintaining a list of all those with IDs is not really ideal. Also, I’m worried that having that many filters for the trigger would slow the flow down.I wonder if the following would work. I’m hoping the “is set” would check for whether a form ID even exists (AFAIK, Shopify checkout doesn’t pass any kind of form ID), and the flow gets triggered only if the sign up came through a form – any form. Thoughts? -oo

Flow-triggered emails are too slow

Hi @Dov Thanks for the response. Your second recommendation re: the conditional split was indeed the reason. For testing purposes I had a condition that only allowed for email addresses that contained my name (so that nobody else would get the welcome emails while testing), and once I removed it, everything got much faster. It’s great, but I hope in the future we do not need actual conditional splits.Thanks again,-oo

@alex.hong thanks for the response and read the other posts. I think I get it, but it’s a bit confusing still. What you’re saying sounds like no matter how many profiles we have, as long as our campaigns are limited to what our plan is, we’ll be fine.If I’m understanding you correctly in this table below, “people” refers to number of people you can email at a time, not profiles. Is that correct?If that is correct why is “number of contacts” even mentioned then (see Klaviyo statement below). How does that play into the cost? Shouldn’t it just state the number of emails instead? Or “people” as in the table?Klaviyo email plans are determined by the number of contacts in your account and the number of emails you send out each month.Also, I still don’t understand what happens if you “try” to send to more emails than your plan. Let’s say you have a 2,500 emails limit. And schedule a campaign to go out to 4000 people. Does the campaign “freeze” after 2,500 emails are sent until you change you

How can I delete a custom property?

@Mailbox Manny here’s the use case. I created a custom property. Then I decided to change its name. So now I have two properties that are slightly different. They both appear not only in the property dropdowns during imports and creating flows, which makes it easy to accidentally pick the wrong one, especially months from now when I don’t remember which is the one that’s actually used in the profiles. How Do I Add Responsive Page Margins in Email Builder?

@cassy.lee I think your response might be a little misleading here, because it sounds like the user can decide how much block margin/padding to display on mobile and desktop independently. Whereas all you can actually do is just show the block on desktop or mobile or both.Thanks – O₂

@dov.derin just a clarification. It looks like the consent type is actually imported fine, because if I export the profile, I can see it in the JSON file.However, I don’t see this information in Klaviyo. When I expand the consent details, I only see the timestamp.Any idea why this might be happening?Thanks much,-oo

@dov.derin this is great, thank you so much. In terms of updating the $consent field though; I created a CSV file with a single entry, and used the formatting from this page. But the profile wasn’t updated with the email consent. The consent date gets updated, but not the consent value (email, web). What am I missing? -oo
