🚨New sender requirements are coming from Google & Yahoo next year🚨

Google and Yahoo recently announced new email sender requirements that are going into effect in February 2024.We understand that there’s a lot to digest when it comes to these changes - and we’re here to help. An update on Klaviyo tracking for Shopify merchantsNews

Klaviyo is now integrated with Shopify’s Customer Privacy API so we can adhere to the Customer Privacy settings you have selected in your Shopify account. These settings dictate how we use cookies to collect and store data for your online store visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland. What impact does this have on my Klaviyo account?Based on your Customer Privacy settings in Shopify, Klaviyo may not track onsite events (Active on Site, Viewed Product, and Added to Cart) for visitors to your Shopify store in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland, unless they have provided consent.You may notice a decline in the volume of onsite events in your Klaviyo account going forward. Kickstart your BFCM email templates

Our July Showcase email template example comes from Archipelago with a great Black Friday Cyber Monday sale template to help you supercharge your BFCM preparation.Here we can see that the email is short, punchy and has a coupon/sale related to Cyber Weekend. They used strong photography/graphics. Brands can design graphics externally, save them as images and upload them into the email template using an image block. Then create one or two large buttons with CTAs at the top/middle of email. You might be thinking that it's problematic to use all images in an email. However, it is fine to use an all image based email, just add alt text to all image blocks. One idea Archipelago used was to only have one big graphic that’s well designed, and just lead customers to click to the website -the less is more principle. Question: How do I prevent Shipping Insurance from displaying in my abandoned cart SMS message?My abandoned cart is set up to display the product name and image for the first item in the cart. What if that item is Shipping Insurance? Can I have it “skip” that item and display something else? Answer: Great question! Typically, you can display the product name for the first item in the cart by using the tag {{ event.Items.0 }}. You can similarly display an image for this product with the tag {{ event.extra.line_items.0.product.images.0.src }}.These tags display product 0, which is the first item in the cart.If the first item is shipping insurance (or any other product you want to exclude), you may want to display the second item instead. Adding past profiles to flows has never been easier

We’re excited to announce improvements to adding past profiles in Flows! Add Past Profiles (formerly known as “Backpopulation”) allows you to queue people for flow actions retroactively. It’s most commonly used when you set a new flow live but want to queue contacts that would have qualified had the flow existed earlier. Adding past profiles ensures that you hit every eligible past contact with the right message, at the right point in time. What’s NewBackpopulation is now called “Add Past Profiles” to clearly reflect functionality and eliminate confusion. You’ll see an “Add Past Profiles” button in the top right of the flow builder While the functionality for adding past profiles (or backpopulating) remains the same, you’ll now see a clearer set of options for how profiles will be added to the flow.
