Josh provides great perspective from a brand standpoint while Dan touches on how they help brands identify which metrics matter the most. The key takeaway of this episode is the 6-pack framework laid out by Dan. This concept originated from the fact that pilots only look at 6 key areas of a cockpit when they're flying, only looking at the hundreds of other gauges/indicators when one of those 6 is off. This same concept can be applied to marketing metrics: If your main 6 metrics are looking good, don't bog yourself down with the scores of other metrics you have at your disposal as a marketer. I started learning about Klaviyo for my role as an Account Strategist at &BAM, and became more and more interested in learning all of the features and ways to use it. What message do you have for people new to Klaviyo? If you have a question or aren't sure about something, the Community is a great place to look! Often someone else will have already asked the same question. Play with Klaviyo's features, and if there's something you need that isn't available, or a feature you'd like to see - let Klaviyo know. They are always developing new tools and making Klaviyo better. What is your favorite part of Klaviyo? I was getting frustrated with the lack of ability to segment engagement metrics (opens, clicks etc) based on whether the email was a flow or a campaign - and there is a stark difference between the metrics of these 2 types! So i used zapier to take the Klaviyo event, set a path (in my case, based on naming convention) and push back a metric in Klaviyo titled “Campaign Open” etc. Now i can segment to my hearts content!
