Abandoned Cart Email Flow and Subscription Cancellation Email Flow (Shopify)

Hi @The Vision Cloud Thank you for posting your question in the community. For the subscription cancelation flow, have you integrated Recharge into your Klaviyo account? If not, there is a direct integration that will add a number of Recharge-specific metrics, including Subscription Cancelation, where you can trigger a flow based on that event. For example, I have a client with Recharge integrated and this is a list of all the custom metrics we can use to trigger flows from:With Recharge sync’d with Shopify, Recharge will be the primary source of subscription information. Not only will the integration provide these custom metrics, but you’ll also have access to a number of profile properties to personalize the email you send.Take a look at the Recharge <> Klaviyo integration as I think this will be the best set up for the flow you want to create.Best, @In the Inbox

Exclude profile from all flows but not campaigns.

Hi @SamuelJH Thank you for posting your question in the community. My initial thought here is that you’d need a way to identify the contact as someone who should not receive any emails from a flow - perhaps a custom profile property.Then, in each of your flows, you’d need to apply a Flow Filter that does not allow anyone to enter the flow when that property is set or has a specific value. Alternatively, you could create a static list and add people to the list. The same set up would apply to a list as a property where you’d need to update the flow filters to exclude anyone on that list.I can’t think of a global setting that would apply across all flows without manually updating each flow, unfortunately.Give that a shot and please let us know if you have any other questions.@In the Inbox

Dynamic Custom Properties

Hi @ZackGurd Thank you for posting your question in the community. I really like the idea of including the personalized data you outlined as consumers will feel more special when they see data customized to their interactions with your brand.In terms of the structure of the data, most personalization used within the body of the email, does need to be saved as custom profile properties. For this campaign, I assume you’ll need to run a backfill of existing customers to populate this data and then you’ll also need to set up something to set the custom profile properties for future anniversary sends. Between the two data points, the most challenging one will be the number of orders placed and saving that as a custom profile value. Klaviyo saves all placed orders as metrics vs. profile properties, and technically there is not a simply way to create a profile property with a simple count of historical orders. For the backfill, you can export all profiles and include “Date Added” or “Profile

Hi @Moodeys I am curious to hear what @standoutecom might also suggest here, but I thought I would jump in. Looking at the conditions in your flow settings, my suspicion is that the Online Order is conflicting with the Point of Sale orders where the conditions both need to be met. I am not 100% sure, but try removing one and see if the preview works. If it does, then you can set up two different review request flows, one for online only order and another specific to the Point of Sale orders.Give that a try!@In the Inbox

Are we able to use a coupon redeemed filter?

Hi @Ericka - Berm Marketing Thank you for posting your question in the community. A couple of quick questions for you:What are you looking to achieve when identifying contacts who have redeemed a coupon? Are you using a dynamic or static coupon in your welcome flow? Are you planning to remove those contacts altogether, or suppress them from a future message or campaign? What ecommerce platform are you using?Generally speaking, if a customer uses a discount code to place an order, if for example you are using Shopify, you can use the Placed Order event with a filter of Discount and set the code. This will allow you to find contacts who have used a specific code.The logic can be used in a segment, or as a conditional filter/split in a flow.The reason I was asking about a static or dynamic code, is because of how you could set up the discount logic. If you are using a static code, you’d simply enter in the static code for the criteria in the segment or conditional split. If you are using

Good Morning @Ericka - Berm Marketing Thank you for the follow up question. When you type in the prefix I assume you are seeing something like this where the contains is filtering to all coupons that start with that, but you are not able to set only the prefix:For example: If you scroll to the very bottom of the list of coupon (This list is showing all of the individual coupons that have placed and order with the coupon “BB20”), you’ll see an option for “Use...”  Select this option and it will aggregate all orders that start with that prefix.I hope this helps!@In the Inbox

Good Morning @clarad Thank you for posting your questions in the community!If you want to target users who are not on your list already, you can configure the targeting rules to only show to profiles that don’t already exist in your account. For example. When you are in the popup editor, click on the Targeting & behavior button. Then, click on Targeting at the top.The first option you will see is a section called Visitors and there is a drop down menu. It may already have the correct option set by default, but from the menu you’ll want to select:Don’t show to existing Klaviyo subscribers I hope this helps! Browse Abandonment Flow - Show multiple products?

Hi @Bobi N. That is a great suggestion! I know the Viewed Product event only allows you to showcase one product at a time, but using the Data feed is a great suggestion to show more than one product in the email.@HannaBystroem - one thing you’ll want to consider when setting up the email is the flow filters if you follow the data feed integration Bobi recommended for the email content. The Viewed Product event will fire for EVERY product viewed, so if you end up showing more products in the email, you’ll want to set up the filters to only allow someone into the flow at a very specific cadence, maybe once every day or once every week, etc. @In the Inbox

What does it mean when a property is "set" or "not set"?

Hi @B B Thank you for posting your question in the community. Your understanding of the profile property logic “is set” or “is not set” is correct and how you want to use it in your flow filter is spot on. In your case, since you want to look for the property to have a value, regardless of what that value is, or not have the property at all, is best used with the “is set” or “is not set” logic. Please let us know if you have any other questions!@In the Inbox

Flow Filter not working - Person that purchased is getting emails for non purchasers

Hi @ThirtySixx Thank you for posting your question in the community. Are you able to provide a wider view of your flow and how the split is configured? The conditional split logic always applies to the “Yes” path. So, in the screenshot above, if anyone has ever placed an order at any time, they will proceed through the “Yes” path of your flow. If you’ve set up the flow where the “Yes” path is meant to only go to users who have not made a previous purchase, then your logic is a little backwards based on how you have the flow configured. If your “Yes” path is built so that only people who have NOT previously made a purchase, then you’d want to adjust the conditional split logic to:What someone has done (or not done): Placed OrderChange “At least once” to “Zero Times” Over all time. When this logic is true, meaning someone has never placed an order, they will proceed down the “Yes” path.I hope that helps! @In the Inbox

Hi @ThirtySixx Thank you for providing the larger screenshot of the flow and clarifying the current setup. A couple of things…The conditional split you have will only apply at the time a contact reaches the conditional step. So, if someone reaches the step, enters the “No” path, receives the first email with a coupon, and then makes a purchase before receiving email 2, technically the system is not rechecking if an order has been placed and they will be eligible to receive the next email.To prevent this… add the followingFor each email in the “no” path after email 1, you would add an additional message filter (not a conditional split, but a message filter), and set the filter as follows:This will prevent anyone from receiving any of the additional emails in the “No” path once they’ve entered that path and made a purchase.I hope this helps.@In the Inbox

Hi @ThirtySixx Yes, you can also apply a profile filter to the trigger of the flow and it will apply to all emails in that flow. You would still keep the conditional split you already have which looks at purchase history before entering the flow, but adding the Profile Filter to the trigger will ensure only people who have not purchased will continue to receive the emails with the coupon code.I hope that helps!@In the Inbox

Setting Up Email Flows for "Added to Cart" That Load All Items

Hi @bunnyb,Thank you for posting your question in the community. The Add to Cart does function slightly different than the Checkout Started both in how it fires and in what data is passed through the event to Klaviyo.The Added to Cart event fires for every product as they are added to your online cart, similar to how the Viewed Product functions when someone views a new product page, the Viewed Product event fires for every page view. Because the Added to Cart event fire for each individual product added to the cart, it does not include any detail about items already existing in the cart, this is why, you will only see the product details for the last item added to the cart. You’ll also see in the Klaviyo documentation about setting up flow filters on your Added to Cart flow to limit the number of times someone should be entered into the flow, otherwise, the Added to Cart flow could send an email for every product a user adds. That said, there is one workaround, a fellow Klaviyo Champi

Asking opt in for an existing customerbase

Hi @BS69 I wanted to add to @Bobby feedback and hope it may be helpful. Given your contacts are FR/UK/UAE and you don’t have consent to mail to them, you would be non-compliant if you sent them an email to try and get their consent.When I have been faced with similar challenges, the one approach that has worked well is using the Klaviyo/Meta and Klaviyo/Google integrations to target these contacts via a segment and running a re-engagement campaign on Meta/Google. This does a couple of things. I will help bring your brand back to your customers awareness when they see you on their feeds or along side their searches, and you can offer them a special opportunity to come back and see what is new. It’s not ideal, but one of the powerful aspects of Klaviyo is the integrations to use data to target and message users across platforms.I hope that helps!@In the Inbox

Shopify product description shows with HTML tags

Hi @NextLevel Thank you for posting your question in the community. While I have not specifically run into this challenge I wanted to chime in and see if I could help point you in the right direction to get the HTML tags removed. Klaviyo uses django web framework. When I create custom code to format shopify data I reference the Django documentation frequently. https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/5.0/ref/templates/builtins/In your case, there is a condition called Striptags which is supposed to remove HTML tags from a block of text. I am not an expert in Django, but play around with it, I think if you add the following to your code, it could do the trick.{{ value|striptags }}{% catalog event.VariantId integration='shopify' %}{{ catalog_item.description|striptags }}{% endcatalog %} Please let me know if that does the trick!@In the Inbox

Email Campaign Open rate dropped in April 2024

Hi @Ramyaa Thank you for posting your question in the community.A drop in open rate could be caused by a variety of factors. Linking out to different websites shouldn’t necessarily cause your open rates to fall, especially with the new sender requirements, as long as your emails are configured to meet the sender requirements:DMARC policy has been setup You’ve set up a dedicated sending domain Your “Friendly” from address is using your domain vs. a gmail/yahoo email address Your messages include an easy unsubscribe link, header unsubscribe (Klaviyo is apply this automatically) And your spam rates are low (<0.01%) on averageThat said, content in your emails could be a factor. For example, if you are constantly sending the same type of message to the same audience, it can get fatigued. Or, if you are constantly using the same type of subject line, that can get fatigued. You should send your subscribers a variety of different message types while also AB testing what resonates best with

Welcome flows down

Hi @houseof.com Thank you for posting your question in the community!The drop in welcome emails could be caused by a number if things, but I’d start with the source where people opt-in to your emails and where they would be triggered into the welcome. For example, if you have an integration with an ecommerce platform, anytime someone signs up on an ecommerce form, they would be added to your list. If there is an issue with the integration, that could cause the number to drop. Or, if you are running popups or other signup forms, check to make sure those are still triggering the way you’d expect. Sometimes if there has been work done on your website, the Klaviyo script can be accidentally removed which would cause the popups to stop triggering, etc.Or, you may need to do some testing on your forms/popups if your signup rate has dropped.From an email delivery perspective, check to see if you are experiencing any deliverability issues. Perhaps some of your messages are being blocked/bounce
