Collecting emails at live event.

Hi @CookieChris @DavidV suggestions are good ideas for quick ‘self-service’ lead capture for people on the move. The list would need to be single opt-in. However, if you have event staff asking qualifying questions to determine interest/lead quality for post-event follow-up priority, you could also create a Klaviyo form/list (single opt-in) only for staff use. Those questions/responses will be captured in the profiles as custom properties for post-event segmentation. RegardsAndy

How to combat high checkout prices?

Hi @GV123 😀Getting insight into why people are abandoning is a great first step. It's likely that US contacts aren't happy with the $30 flat shipping rate, but that's not necessarily the reason.Here are some ideas/things to consider:Are abandon rates higher for US contacts than for European ones? Just worth checking.Checkout processHas that been independently reviewed? Even family and friends will provide valuable feedback on how they find the process - they’re likely consumer experts! Small changes to the checkout can make a difference. Abandon surveyYou can certainly do this. However, if someone has decided to abandon, they are less likely to complete such a survey (but some will). You could incentivise them to increase response, maybe with a discount that offsets the shipping cost. Their feedback has value, so it may be worth that discount to the client. It may also encourage contacts to re-engage and purchase. Another approach I like is to survey customers post-purchase, as they a

No problem @GV123 Glad to have helpedThere are no mad ideas in dig. marketing, only untested hypotheses. 😀 I like your idea of pre-emptively targeting contacts by predicted cold snap! Geo-location is not 100% so customers with submitted postal addresses will likely work best. If you have access to their customer data, I think an overlay of sales by regional winter temperature would pique your client’s interest, as long as you can add some actionable insight to that data, e.g., two states with similar winter weather but one with much lower sales.RegardsAndy

Welcome to the community @Mpond2 Unfortunately, I believe the only way to do this is to export and analyse outside of Klaviyo:Go to https://www.klaviyo.com/analytics/metrics  Select ‘placed order’ then ‘Best people’ export to csv. A dialog opens where you can select your segment. Sort analyse the segment profiles to get the data you requireIt is not an ideal solution, but it should get the information you require.Hope that helpsAndy

For seasonal products, the ‘in-between season’ period can be used to create engagement, anticipation, and keep the brand front of mind even if they’re not ready to purchase.When coming up with content ideas, I use ‘time and space’ that can produce some interesting content ie how winter wear has changed over the past x years (style, materials etc) or how winter wear differs across different locations and why.That content also could include the brand ‘stories’ you mentioned and educational/promo content such as:behind the scenes to showcase the designers, artisans, fabric origins (countries, the sheep from which the wool is produced etc), colour choices, production techniques etc.   lifestyle lookbooks for the upcoming winter collection that will inspire customers Brand approach to sustainability Any new innovations in next season’s clothing Early bird. Hi @ThomasNK @JessFosnough and @retention make a good point about a delay after the first email to allow the recipients time to engage with it. For example, my sunset flows (segment triggered), which are not dissimilar to your flow, have a re-opt-in confirmation link in the first email with a delay before a conditional split that checks for that specific link click.RegardsAndy

Welcome to the community @ThomasNK There can be situations when an email click is registered, but an open is not.As you are only interested in the click on that first email, I’d get rid of the open condition as you have an AND clause so the open and click both have to occur for the condition to be true.If you are monitoring for a specific click in that first email, I recommend adding a filter to your click condition to match against that URL. This is because If you have other campaigns and flow emails that these contacts may receive, a click on any of those will meet your current click condition when they’re in this flow.If you have lots of urls in that first email that you want to use for the click condition, you can make the condition ‘clicked email where flow equals [your flow name] at least once since starting  this flow’ Hope that helpsAndy

Hi @AnnaE The only way I know to clean up a person’s title that appears in the first name field e.g Dr, Mr, Mrs etc, is to export a list into Excel, identify those contacts, clean them up, and re-import only those contacts back into your list. You need to ensure you don’t change their subscription status.However, I often find that a contact adds their info as first name = Dr and last name = Smith, so there’s not much you can do to clean those up to use first name for personalisation.The other consideration is that a contact with the title Dr can be quite precious about being referred to by that title! Welcome to the community @Ameera Creations This is likely due to you not having configured a branded sending domain, so the recipient’s email system cannot verify whether the sender is genuine.If you look here: https://www.klaviyo.com/settings/email/domains do you see ‘Active’ as in the image below?If not you need to follow these instructions to add a branded sending domain: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000357752 That will add records for SPF (detects forged sender addresses) and DKIM (a digital signature that ensures the email hasn’t changed). These are required so your sending domain is verified, though the DMARC record needs to be added separately.DMARC is just the reporting mechanism that states where reports of emails that fail SPF/DKIM are sent, and what the receiving email system should do with those emails - none (accept), quarantine, or reject). HTML Tags in Templates via Event Properties

Welcome to the community @NCH I don’t believe there is a way to get Klaviyo to display that content while respecting the HTML tags unless others here know of a solution.It’s possible to strip the HTML using |striptags as a parameter at the end of the event variable, but your text would then be unformatted plain text.Looking at your events, is the information that gets pulled into your HTML message available as individual event variables? Could you build a table or text blocks that pulls in that data so you can format as you want?RegardsAndy

Hi @simpliPetsThe value [“true”] with brackets and quotations is denoting that the data type is a list (array). List data-types are used if you want a custom property to contain multiple values. For example:brew_preference = ["espresso","filter"]I think the issue is that you are using a Multi checkbox block with one option for NewsletterConsent. Multi checkbox values are always stored as a list even if it has only one option. If you change it to a radio button it will be stored as a text string.Hope that helpsAndy

Hi @BTTF Understand now! It’s WooC checkout.I’m not sure how much this helps you, but I can see that the checkbox's position is not aligned within its container. By changing its value for ‘top’ from 3 to 0, it does align. Thanks @DavidSandel It's really useful info to have as I was looking for an automated sunset/suppression approach!Your first link only took me so far but the webhook preview was failing. However when I amended the JSON body to correspond to the example in your 2nd dev link, the preview webhook was successful. My flow is now at manual for testing.Thanks again 😀 Andy

How to avoid fake new susbribers? Double opt-in enabled even

Hi @mrosique It looks like you’re saying you don’t have double opt-in enabled on your Klaviyo list only on Shopify? As Klaviyo is where your subscribers are being pushed from Shopify, double opt-in needs to be enabled on that Klaviyo list for it to work. That will reduce those unwanted submissions and keep your list cleaner.Hope that helpsAndy

Welcome to the community @valuesbasedlife When you say “nobody received it” on the first send, is that from recipient feedback? Or just from the Klaviyo metrics for that send?What was your list size? Was it sent to an engaged list of contacts? When was the first send time (it’s showing as updated at 10:40pm)? Sending to a list late on a Friday is usually not a good idea, particularly if it’s a business list. Have you also looked at the detailed campaign report for the first send, particularly the deliverability tab? Do the bounces look OK?Having no opens/clicks from a campaign is unusual, but it is possible!RegardsAndy
