Why Can't I Upgrade my Plan?

Hey everyone, does anyone else have issues with their billing on Klaviyo? I have many customers on this platform, but for some reason for one of the customers, I am unable to get out of the FREE Version of the software. The billing went through last month with no problems, but it didn’t allow me to send the right amount. The past three days I tried three different credit cards to upgrade the account another tier higher or swap out billing methods. Nothing seems to work. I don’t get an error message. Once I click the upgrade button, the window just sits and nothing happens.

Adding a Prefix to Preview Emails

When working on a campaign or template, you may want to send Preview emails to get feedback or to see how it looks in your inbox.  A good idea is to add a “Prefix” to the Subject Line so your team members don’t panic thinking that an email was delivered before it was planned! Luckily, this can be configured in your Account Settings so Preview Emails will automatically have a Prefix that you choose without having to manually add this each time. You can do this in: Account → Settings → EmailI like to use the prefix “[TEST]” so it’s short and nice and clear that the Preview Emails are not actual campaign emails.

Initial Email, then Add to Flow?

I would like to be able to create multiple signup forms for promotions (contest entries, coupon codes, etc.). Once someone submits the form, I would like to send an email with the code or thank you message, then add them to the general Newsletter Welcome series. What is the best way to do this? Is there a way to move someone to another flow when they reach the end of their current flow?

Segment or List for 2 different lead magnets with flows?

I’m creating 2 different lead magnets. One is a pop up on my site that will offer a dollar amount off and the other will be a landing page (where the link will be posted on social or an ad) with an offer to our free resource library. The first emails for these welcome flows will differ as one will have a coupon code and the other will have a password to the resource library. Do I create 2 lists to trigger these flows or one list that is segmented to trigger each flow? If segmented, what qualifier would denote the trigger? What I don’t want is someone who opted in to the coupon to receive an email saying “here’s your password to our resource library” and vice versa. Could someone suggest the best way to set this up? Thanks.

How can I export my customers and know what lists they are a part of?

The easiest way to accomplish this is to use the update profile property action functionality using a flow. To start, create a flow triggered by someone being added to each list in your account. Once you have created the flow trigger, add in an Updated Profile Property action. You can create a profile property called List Membership and then assign a value of the list name.For more information on how to do this, head to this article on the Update Profile Property action.Your next step is to back-populate the flow. Choose the second option to schedule emails relative to when I hit the back-populate button. As long as you only add the update profile property action to your flow, no messages will send out because your flow does not contain any emails or SMS. What are the different Client Types in the Analytics Dashboard?

Client Types are classifications that define the channel through which customers reach your site. A Client Type is different from Client Name, which is the exact browser a profile used (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).In the Analytics Dashboard, you can choose to produce cards that sort customer data by Client Type to monitor this over time. These client types are defined as:Browser Browser refers to individuals who open your email in a web browser tab. Mobile Browser Mobile Browser details the amount of users who open your email in a mobile browser. Other Other refers to those who open your email via embedded browsers in obscure mobile & desktop apps. None None means that these users cannot be identified. Email Client Email Client refers to profiles that open an email using an email app, such as Outlook. Library Library refers to those who open your email using “headless browsers,” i.e. browsers without a UI, or request-generating libraries used by backend servers.

Help with Abandoned Cart Flow - Excluding Customers Already in the Flow

Dear friends,I created the standard Abandoned Cart Flow like this:When someone Checkout Started.Flow Filter: Placed order zero times since starting this flow.Wait 20 MinE-Mail 1Wait 4 hoursE-Mail 2 + with discount codeWait 22 hoursE-Mail 3 Now I have the problem that a customer opened E-mail 2 and started checkout again with coupon code but didn't complete. Now he will start again with the flow and will get E-Mail-1. And still he will get E-Mail 3, from entering the flow the 1st time. Is there a way I can have a check if this customer was in the flow already in the past 24 hours to prevent this? Thank you!

Excluding contacts from a flow until an event has passed

Hi everyone,We have a back in stock email flow set up (Via Swym/Kalviyo) When a product is back in stock, an event is created and that triggers the flow to send an email notification.A team member opted a customer in on their behalf (we know not GPDR-compliant, we’ve told them since) but they opted them in on the wrong product. We can’t “remove” the trigger event from Kalviyo so we created an exclusion list to prevent from receiving that notification.The item is back in stock, the flow was triggered and the email has been excluded. Can we now “unexclude” the customer or will it still trigger the event to be sent to them? Thanks!

Triple Opt-in with Zapier+Squarespace integration

Hi,I am moving from Squarespace e-mail marketing to Klaviyo, through Zapier, but both platforms require double opt-in so when new subscribers sign up to my newsletter, they get 2 confirmation emails - one from Klaviyo and one from Squarespace.Did anyone have the same problem?

Signup Form not going to correct list

I created a signup form that should submit to a list called “Ebook.” However, on clicking the submit button, the name is added to the “Engaged (3 Months)” list instead of “Ebook.” Am I doing something wrong?

If you're using a long or toll-free number to send SMS messages in your account and someone calls that number, they will receive an error that the number is not in service.

Hello Team, does anyone know if it’s possible to integrate Linktr.ee with Klaviyo? I want to capture email addresses from my social channels using Linktr.ee but it only offers me MailChimp as an option for capturing emails.

Segments and tags?

First I'm not native in English :) I'm coming from Active Campaign and find Klaviyo a bit confusing as a beginner here.  I'll try to explain what I need and what my challenges are.In AC I had the option to add tags to people either on signup (forms)  or manually, based on the tags they went into automation (flows). I'll try to explain my setup in AC and hopefully, someone here gets it and can point me in the right direction. In AC I had a setup for new clients (webdesign business) where I added a new client manually and added tags to them based on the services have with me.  The whole idea was to send them into automation where they based on the tags got some info/education about the service they bought. Say I have 6 services, now I add the client to a list (new_clients) and add 3 services to them with tags, then they go into automation where all 6 services have 3-5 emails. Because of the tags, the automation check (split) if they have the tag for service 1, if no, (skip) and go to nex

With Abandoned Cart Flows, it’s best practice to send your email before your customer orders the product they “abandoned”. Sometimes though, things don’t work quite the way they should and customers might receive an abandoned cart email after ordering. Advice on Creating Product-Specific Abandoned Cart Flows

Abandoned cart flows are one of the first flows Klaviyo recommends ecommerce businesses set up. Since it’s triggered by a customer starting checkout, you know there’s interest, and the abandoned cart flow helps remind customers to complete their purchase. Depending on your business, you may be thinking of creating more specific flows for your products. Say you only have a few products and you want each to have a different abandoned cart experience, or perhaps your brand has a hero product that you want to give some extra attention to, Klaviyo can help you do that.Creating a Product-Specific Abandoned Cart FlowIf you want a particular product to have it’s own specific flow, set the Flow Trigger to Checkout Started and add each product as a trigger filter. If you have a more generalized abandoned cart flow for other products, be sure to also add a trigger filter to that flow excluding the products in the dedicated flow to ensure customers don’t receive two abandoned cart emails from you.

Why am I being asked for my website password?

My new account was flagged for account verification. I was sent a list of questions which I answered. I was then asked for my “site password” to continue verification. Is this normal procedure? I’m not even sure what that means- my Klaviyo password? My WordPress admin password? I’m pretty sketched out at this point and am thinking this is a scam.

Get notified when someone fills out a form

Depending on your business, you might have some forms on your site intended for high-touch customers, and you want to be notified when someone joins that list. So how can we make that happen?At this time, Klaviyo does not have a built-in notification that you can receive when a customer fills out a signup form, but with flows you can make sure you know when someone has been added. Below are two easy ways to do this: You can CC or BCC the desired email on the first message of a flow triggered by the list your customer joins when filling out the form. You will add this CC or BCC on the content page for the first email of the flow. When the customer fills out your form and joins your list, they will enter the flow and receive the first email of the flow — you will then receive that email as well to your inbox notifying you of the customer subscription to your list. Dynamic images appear fine with in-app previews, but are missing in Gmail: why is this happening?

Gmail can be a tricky inbox provider when it comes to emails rendering correctly! Klaviyo dynamically pulls images from your site through image source URLs from your integration. Sometimes these image source URLs may not have the http: or https: included, which can cause images not to render in Gmail.  To fix this issue, add |httpsize to the placeholder tag for the image. This will look different for each scenario, but here’s an example of what this might look like: {{ event.product_image_urls_1|httpsize }}  The tags can be different but the filter will remain the same. Adding this placeholder tag should be the trick to solving this issue!

Canceling a campaign mid-send: how do you resend without emailing people that already received the original campaign?

Your first step in this situation should be to create a segment of customers who received the first campaign. This segment will then be excluded from your secondary send to ensure that you don’t double email any profiles.  To create this segment, head to your Lists & Segments tab and click to create a new segment. Once you have named your segment, choose the following definition: What someone has done (not done) > Received Email > at least once, then filter by your Campaign Name  When you create your second campaign, choose to target the same lists or segments from the original send and exclude the segment that you just created to ensure that customers do not receive multiple emails.  Happy sending!

Why is hyperlinked text in an abandoned cart email not redirecting people to checkout?

You’ve designed a great email for your abandoned cart flow but when you preview the email in Klaviyo, you notice that your CTA button redirects customers to thecheckout page correctly but your hyperlinked text does not. You see the dreaded "This site can't be reached" page in your browser. How do you fix it? This is most likely happening due to some missing characters in your URL. This happens because Klaviyo populates your website URL in the template using the {{ organization.url }} tag, which pulls directly from the URL you have inserted in your account settings. Sometimes this URL may be missing a / after the .com which can cause the checkout URL to break.  In the email editor of your abandoned cart flow, you’ll need to add a / to the URL of your hyperlinked text. To edit the URL for hyperlinked text, click into the table block and select Rows > Column 2.    From here, double click the hyperlinked {{ item.product.title }} tag. You’ll see a new window appear where you can add in t
