Shopify Newsletter Subscribers are not syncing to Klaviyo List

Hi @flonomao,Actually, nobody gets a DOI email if they accept marketing at checkout. The double opt-in email Is only sent if they sign up using forms (Klaviyo’s or Shopify’s or a third party). Thanks,Mike

Change Flow Message Names and Order

Hi there,The name of the email does not control the order in which the emails are sent in a given flow. In other words, even though the email reads #4 and #5, but is in the 1st and 2nd position, they will be sent in the order that they are “physically” in. You can update the names of the email so that they are a bit more intuitive! I hope that helps! Mike

Why do Recipients Open an Email Multiple Times in the Same Minute?

Hi there,I don’t think there is anything wrong here as there is no setting that would drive this. It’s more likely that customers are opening emails, navigating to the website, and exploring the rest of the email. It isn’t too uncommon to have multiple opens from the same recipient, especially within the same few minutes. To me, that’s just a recipient engaging with the email. No real cause for concern here.

Why Is my text editor showing up in Bold?

Hi there,Are you copy and pasting this from another template or doc or are you typing it directly in the text block? If you are pasting it, try pasting it without formatting. The email builder is likely reading it as a custom font which is making it difficult to format.

Hi Michael,If the email content is ready to go, you’ll want to flip the action status of the email from either Draft or Manual to Live. Why Are Some Profiles In My Segment Not Entering My Flow?

Hi Sean,Yeah, this is to be expected actually. When you set up a segment triggered flow, it will not automatically push everybody who currently exists in the segment through the flow. Instead, only net new people who enter the segment will go through the flow. In order to get folks who exist in the segment to enter your flow, you’ll want to back-populate your flow. This way, you can have people enter the flow as if it was live before it actually was. I hope that helps!Mike

Hi Michael,You actually want to uncheck that box in Shopify so you are not duplicating messages by sending on both Klaviyo and Shopify. It should be off in Shopify and on in Klaviyo.

Why Doesn't my Abandoned Cart Flow Send When A Customer Doesn't Check Out?

Hi Michael,As I had suspected, you have set up a checkout started abandoned cart in Klaviyo and you are comparing that to something entirely different in Shopify. Based on what you have set up so far, people will only receive emails if they start a checkout. In other words, this goes beyond adding to cart. It’s quite literally additional steps that a customer must take. A customer begins the process by adding something to their cart but then takes it a step further by starting their checkout. The key point to note here is that the flow will not send emails until they get to the billing page where they can enter their payment information. At that point, Shopify will send a started checkout event to Klaviyo and the flow will trigger. However, the email will only send if they do not continue with the purchase. Having said that, you haven’t necessarily done anything wrong. For a more accurate picture, you can compare the flow in Klaviyo to folks who have started their checkout in Shopify.

Why Doesn't my Abandoned Cart Flow Send When A Customer Doesn't Check Out?

Hi there,Without taking a look at your account, I’m wondering which abandoned cart flow you are referring to. In Klaviyo, there are essentially 2 abandoned cart flows: Added to Cart Abandoned Cart - this flow requires an additional code snippet to be added to your e-comm platform. With that snippet, Klaviyo will know when someone adds an item to their cart and doesn’t purchase.  Abandoned Cart/Checkout - this flow does not typically require an additional code snippet as the checkout started information is usually passed over through your e-commerce integration. With that said, this flow will trigger when someone actually adds something to their cart and continues the checkout process without purchasing or placing their order.  The issue you may be running into is that someone may not have triggered the abandoned cart flow you have set up.

Hi there,Your signup form exists as a code within your theme. Once you locate that code, you’ll want to add our code snippet to it. A form input group will look something like this: <form> code here </form>. Your form should likely live under the footer.liquid theme but it may be beneficial to reach out to Shopify’s support team to help you locate exactly where it is.Thanks,Mike

Why is the Background of my Email Not Showing Up on Mobile?

Hi there,This is a bit difficult to troubleshoot without taking a closer look at your email template. I’m wondering if you are referring to the entire email background color, or the background color of a specific block. If it is the latter, please check to see if you’ve set it up to Desktop only as opposed to Desktop & Mobile. If you are referencing the entire email background color from the Styles tab, then I would recommend reaching out to the Klaviyo support team for additional troubleshooting. Thanks,Mike

Can I add an Unsubscribe link next to the From field in Google?

Hi Harry,Assuming you are referencing this unsubscribe button:This is something that Gmail will automatically do if you meet certain criteria with Gmail. First, you’ll need to be on a dedicated sending domain. Secondly, you’ll need to have a good sender reputation. I hope that helps!Mike

Hi there,If you are using a Shopify form, then you’ll want to integrate it to Klaviyo by following this guide. The hidden input tag, <input type="hidden" name="contact[tags]" value="newsletter"> should live within your form’s input group. Additionally, if you are looking to sync customers who accept marketing at checkout into your Klaviyo list, you’ll have to do this within Klaviyo. Under your Integrations tab, you’ll want to select your Shopify integration and then you’ll notice a checkbox that will route customers at checkout to a defined list: I hope that helps!Mike

Can I Bulk Delete Old or Inactive Import Fields?

Hi Eddy,Bulk deletion of profile properties can only be performed by a Klaviyo staff member, so this should only happen when absolutely necessary. If this is the case, reach out to a member of the Klaviyo support team. When you do so, you will be prompted to file a support ticket. Add Birthday to profile

Hi there,Within your signup form, you’ll want to ensure that you’re using a date input to collect birthdays. Once you do that, you’ll have the option to map the date that customers enter, to a custom profile property. This property should not exist by default so you’ll want to create your own property and label it Birthdate. From there, anybody who signs up from your form and enters their birthday should have the Birthdate custom profile property. This new Birthdate profile property should be the one that triggers your birthday flow. I hope that helps!

Complex Email Designs - Mandatory or Not?

Hi Vlad,I think you raise an interesting topic about email design here. The reality is that all brands and consumers are different. This leads me to believe that there is no right answer to your question. What email design truly boils down to is this: Does it work for your brand? And the only real way to answer that question is to test. Marketers should feel empowered to A/B test design elements such as a hero image, CTA positioning, and product blocks. Making business decisions based on data-backed evidence is far superior to calling shots on a whim.

Help! Will an archived campaign still send?

Hi there, The way smart send works is that it limits the number of emails someone can receive from you in a given time frame. Once you launch the campaign, it will check against anybody who has received an email from you recently and if they have received one within the designated time frame (16 hrs), then they will be skipped. In other words, the campaign is not paused and will not continue to “try” again after the window passes.  Additionally archiving a campaign will not cause it to send again because only canceled or sent campaigns can be archived. Furthermore, you can unarchive a campaign to delete it.  I hope this helps!

Hi Isobel, Your code looks correct here. You may be running into an issue if you aren’t adding the code to the right place. You’ll want to add the code into the Source of a text block. Once you add the code to the correct place, you’ll be able to see the link change color immediately.  Mike
