Placed order vs. Ordered Product Events: What's the difference?

If you have an ecommerce integration added to your Klaviyo account, you’ll see both Placed Order and Ordered Product events in your account. But what is the difference and why does Klaviyo include both?Placed OrderEvery order in your e-commerce store will generate one Placed Order event for the entire order. This event will include all line items, the value of the order, the categories or collections the products are from, item count, and other important information that pertains to the entire order. Placed Order value will equate to the total order value, including shipping and any applied discounts.Ordered ProductOn the other hand, Ordered Product events occur for each individual item ordered. These events don’t include information about the overall order, but have more detailed information about the individual item purchased, such as sku, or different variations and product attributes. Adding images side by side in an email

You’re designing your email, and all you want is to have two images side by side, but how do you do it? Well, there are 2 ways:Use columns. In the Klaviyo email editor, choose Add Columns to Email and drag it to where you would like your images to be. It will populate with text blocks by default. Drag in your image blocks and delete the text blocks if you don’t plan to use them. This method will allow you to easily include 3-4 images in a row and can be used with any content type. using columns to add images Use a Split. In the editor within the block options choose Split and drag the block to where you want your images to be. The Block Tab will show a column editor. Under Layout/Types > Content change the dropdown for both columns to “image”, then click into each column tab to upload your images. Get notified when someone fills out a form

Depending on your business, you might have some forms on your site intended for high-touch customers, and you want to be notified when someone joins that list. So how can we make that happen?At this time, Klaviyo does not have a built-in notification that you can receive when a customer fills out a signup form, but with flows you can make sure you know when someone has been added. Below are two easy ways to do this: You can CC or BCC the desired email on the first message of a flow triggered by the list your customer joins when filling out the form. You will add this CC or BCC on the content page for the first email of the flow. When the customer fills out your form and joins your list, they will enter the flow and receive the first email of the flow — you will then receive that email as well to your inbox notifying you of the customer subscription to your list. Creating a Weekly Report for my Back in Stock Flow

If you’ve set up a Back in Stock Flow, you might be wondering which products have the most requests. With Klaviyo you can generate a report of product requests from your Back in Stock Flow and subscribe to it to get regularly updated reports. To do so, navigate to your flow and click on the back in stock delay in the flow. From here, click on "View Back in Stock Product Request Report." This takes you to the report for the back in stock flow. With Abandoned Cart Flows, it’s best practice to send your email before your customer orders the product they “abandoned”. Sometimes though, things don’t work quite the way they should and customers might receive an abandoned cart email after ordering. Let’s take a look at some possible reasons, and how to address them.There are four reasons that your customers may still receive an Abandoned Cart email after placing an order.Your time delay between a customer starting a checkout and the first email of the flow is not long enough. How to add a clickable phone number to an email

There are many reasons you might want to provide a phone number for customers to reach you at, and it’s a great way to keep an open line of communication with your customers if you offer phone support. So how do you easily share that with a customer in an email?There are two ways you can add a click-to-call link to your emails:Add it as linked text. If you mention your phone number within a text block, you can hyperlink it to your phone number by adding the following HTML to your text block’s source code: <a href="tel:+18881235467">1-888-123-5467</a>. Add it as a button. Drag and drop a button into your message. Add an appropriate call to action in the Button Text field, and instead of a Link URL, add “tel:+18881235467” Be sure to replace the example number with your own number, and keep the same formatting as in the example.

How do I install and publish a Klaviyo signup form on my website?

If you have an ecommerce integration with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, or Magento, the first step has likely already been completed during your ecommerce integration setup of Klaviyo's Web Tracking. Troubleshooting help: why won't my list import?

If you’re importing a list into Klaviyo, proper formatting is very important. I wanted to share some of the most common issues with importing lists and some troubleshooting tips on how to fix them. Check that:Your file is a .csv (comma-separated values) file. If you’re in Europe, your spreadsheet software may export .csv files using semi-colons “;” not commas “,”. You can change this by going to your devices regional settings > advanced settings and changed the symbol used to separate lists. The first row contains column headers The email column header is properly named Name the column either “Email” or “Email Address” You do not have duplicate headers (this includes blank headers!) If you are receiving an error message about duplicate headers in your sheet and you double-checked that all your columns have unique names, delete any blank columns from your sheet and try uploading again. The file size is 50 MB or fewer Every row has an email address associated with it No duplicate

How to manually suppress a profile in Klaviyo?

Manually suppressing a profile in Klaviyo is pretty simple. To manually unsubscribe someone from all emails sent by Klaviyo, navigate to Profiles > Suppressed Profiles > Add Email Address. Enter the email address and select Add Email Address. This method is what we’d recommend for suppressing a single profile at a time if, for example, a customer requested that you remove them from your list. Updating the reply-to email address in my account

There may come a time when you need to update your reply-to email address. Perhaps you want to change it for just one message, or for all future campaigns and flow emails you create. Either way, here’s how you can make those updates.Update My Reply-to Address for One MessageBy default, your sender email address will be the same email used for replies. If you want to change the reply-to email used for a particular campaign or flow message, go to the email editor. Before clicking in to edit the content of your email, you will see the options to update the sender name, sender email address, and subject. Below Sender Email Address is a checkbox. Poor deliverability means your messages don’t reach your subscribers, so it’s important to understand how to identify and address any deliverability issues early. Why are the customers in my Shopify list not in any of my Klaviyo lists?

You’ve integrated your Shopify and synced your customers to Klaviyo, awesome! But why aren’t all of them in your newsletter list?When Klaviyo syncs customers from your Shopify store, it creates a Profile for them but it won’t add them to a list, because they didn’t explicitly opt-in to be a part of your Klaviyo list. What if they accepted marketing at checkout?If a customer accepted marketing, you’ll see a profile property in the customer profile that says Accepts Marketing is True. While this is great, it doesn’t mean they automatically get added to a list. However since they have consented to receive email marketing from you in the past, you can create a segment of customers who have accepted marketing and are not in your main newsletter list, export that list as a .csv, and import it to your main list to add them. Advice on Creating Product-Specific Abandoned Cart Flows

Abandoned cart flows are one of the first flows Klaviyo recommends ecommerce businesses set up. Since it’s triggered by a customer starting checkout, you know there’s interest, and the abandoned cart flow helps remind customers to complete their purchase. Depending on your business, you may be thinking of creating more specific flows for your products. Say you only have a few products and you want each to have a different abandoned cart experience, or perhaps your brand has a hero product that you want to give some extra attention to, Klaviyo can help you do that.Creating a Product-Specific Abandoned Cart FlowIf you want a particular product to have it’s own specific flow, set the Flow Trigger to Checkout Started and add each product as a trigger filter. If you have a more generalized abandoned cart flow for other products, be sure to also add a trigger filter to that flow excluding the products in the dedicated flow to ensure customers don’t receive two abandoned cart emails from you.

Does deleting a list or segment delete the profiles from my Klaviyo?

The short answer is: Depends on where you delete the lists.I want to delete the list or segment, NOT the profilesIf you are browsing your Lists & Segments tab and decide to delete a list or segment from there, rest assured you will not be deleting the profiles on those lists! You will only be deleting that specific grouping of people. To delete a list or segment, select the three dots to the right of the list and select delete.I want to delete a specific group of profiles from my Klaviyo accountIf however you do want to remove the profiles in a list or segment, go to Account > Settings > Profile Maintence and select the list or segment of profiles you wish to permanently remove from your Klaviyo account. It’s important to note that when you delete a profile, you delete all of the data associated with the profile from Klaviyo, and you will be unable to include any past purchases in Klaviyos analytics. Depending on your needs, you may want to suppress those profiles instead. Ha
