Hello! Forgive me for my little knowledge but here’s the background information. We have a custom website that can sell cars online and we set up some api triggers to Klaviyo for situations such as abandoned cart that will send the customer information to us with all of the information to send out customized emails. We had a designer that has created the flows and built the emails in html on our account but then they had to leave the job after and didn’t finish setting it up before we got the API set up. So now I’m not 100% sure how to set these up so that i can add a tag or whatever its called to pull that specific information. And I’m hoping i could get some help! I’m not an engineer I just work with the product and am trying to see if this is an easy fix or need to bring someone in to help. here is a screen shot of the email and some of the information we pull from the customers. Thank you!

Hi @drewwheel

Thanks for being a community member! Can you clarify your overall goal? That would be helpful to think through some solutions. A did want to mention, with a custom website, working with a developer could be a help, we have a directory of agency partners who you could look into as well. I’m also including our developer portal which includes all of our API documentation

Thank you for the documentation, we have a developer who worked on it but it was their first time with Klaviyo. An example of what we are trying to do is it make it so whatever vehicle they are looking at will populate on their email. In the screenshot you see it says lexus on our designed email but i want it to change to whatever the customer is interested in if that makes sense.

@drewwheel

I would then advise that you look at recommendations in emails based on the product catalog and customer behavior. The way this works is that he has to maintain a list of products using Klaviyo's Catalog API.

  • Then you would need to have events about customer behavior via Events like Viewed Product, Product added to cart, and use that product in the email flow.
  • If it's based on abandoned cart, then probably use the most recently added product in the email.

I hope this helps!
