Black Email Background changes to white in dark mode mobile view. How can I prevent this from happening?

When I test my email on mobile view in dark mode the background (black) turns to white. Is there anyway to keep this from happening?  Basically, I want to lock the color in place so that any mobile viewer sees the background as black always.  Please help!  Attached are the top two images of the original mobile views and the bottom two are the mobile previews with white backgrounds.

Universal saved contentF.A.Q.

Universal saved content is a long awaited feature that we’re very excited about! With UC (Universal Content), you can save a section/block universally, add it to other templates, edit the content, and have the changes reflect everywhere the UC block is added. Or, you can add the UC to different templates, unlink, and edit locally - so the changes are not reflected everywhere, just in the one template you’re editing. This is very helpful for footers or other sections you use in every email, if a change is needed (ex: updating the link for privacy policy, or your copy for footer closing statement, etc), if the block is universally saved, then you can simply edit the content once and have the changes reflect everywhere the UC block is added. To use UC, simply select the star button to save and name the block/section. Now, you will see it is under the ‘universal’ tab next to default (screenshot below). By default, all saved blocks will save universally, but you can unlink after to not upda

New Template Editor – Am I the only one seeing a lot of bugs?

Hi all, As much as I love the new template editor, it sure feels a bit buggy and not ready for prime time.The UI becomes unresponsive at times and you need to leave the editor and come back Sometimes auto save stops and the save button doesn’t work, so you basically lose your edits since last save. The section padding switch is funky; if you set some padding, leave the panel, and come back, it looks “off” even though there’s clearly padding visible in the section. Clicking the switch again “resets” the padding to default values. So better remember how much padding you have in there, and try not to touch it. Preview is weird, especially mobile preview. When you remove the mobile margins, preview still shows margins around the content. Only if you actually send a test email you can confirm that the margins are actually gone. Also, sometimes I need to leave the editor and come back in order for preview to show things correctly. Undo is nice, but not really unreliable. Sometimes it undoes

How do I know the right dimensions of image to use in the editor?

Hey, I have been trying to make design for my email marketing but every time I make design. The size can’t fit right in the editor either it appears too large or small etc.How can I know the right dimensions of a photo that will fit in the editor and my design as total?  Thanks in advance.

New and Classic Editors: Clearing External StylesTutorial

New Editor - Clearing External StylesYou could be seeing display issues once your email is sent, if you originally created the email by copying and pasting your text from a different source (Google Docs, Microsoft word, external email, etc). When copying/pasting this content, the external inline styles from the original source can get carried over causing display issues since these styles are not native to Klaviyo. If you are copying/pasting content from an external source (google docs, different email, etc) please ensure to either 'paste without formatting' or paste and then clear formatting in order to clear inline styles. In order to clear these external inline styles, please highlight the content > select the 3 dots button > clear formatting, to remove these styles.On Macs you can paste without formatting using: Command + Shift + V. On PCs you can paste without formatting using: Ctrl+Shift+V You can always 'paste without formatting' or clear formatting, and then using Block S

Can I save campaign and flow messages as templates?

Yes, you can save any campaign or flow message as a template! For a campaign:From the Campaigns tab navigate into the campaign you want to save as a template. If it's not an A/B test, click on the three dots on the far right side of the row of the campaign. Click the option that says Add to Email Templates. However, if the campaign was an A/B test, you will need to clone the campaign, edit the variation you want to save, and click on the edit drop-down to find the Save as template button.For a flow:In the Flows tab, navigate to the specific flow message you want to save. Then, click Edit to go to the template preview. Here, click on the edit drop-down and select Save as template.

Why does klaviyo's new editor work so slow?

Hi, when I use klaviyo’s new editor for creating a new email template, it works very slowly. That is the reason it takes a lot of time to design an email template, which is very annoying. Is it just happening to me? Is there any solution?

Klaviyo’s New Template Editor versus the Classic Template EditorF.A.Q.

The Classic Editor is deprecated as of May 2023. This post can be used to highlight the added benefits of the New Editor or instructions using it.  There are many exciting differences between the new and old editor. Other than an updated UI (user interface) for a fresh, clean look, the new editor introduced Sections and Columns as well. Sections are essentially grouping mechanisms. A section can be dragged/dropped into the template and then more than one block can be added into a section, and the whole section can be saved - in order to save more than one block at a time, or a whole layout. You can add Columns into a section. Columns allow you to add blocks side by side rather than just vertically stacked. I have a different loom video specifically explaining sections and columns here as well for more info specifically on this.  In the New Editor, you can also add in background images to sections which is not possible within the old editor. Customizing product data feed

I’m looking for customise a product data feed to use either the 2nd or last product image. It doesn’t look like the ‘Product Block’ allows this kind of customisation so I was wondering if there was a way to use a data feed in a Table Block. For example, if the feed was called ‘VIEW_PRODUCTS’, could I use this for a table’s data source? eg.And if this is possible, how do I preview the data response so I know what data objects I can use?

Different image for desktop and mobile version

I wanted to understand if there's an option to add different images for desktop and mobile version? We're creating our email flows and want mobile users to see a different version of our images than desktop users, is there an option to create this? I only see "mobile optimisation" and "image stacking" options. Thank you

Do you have a best-practice for "number of text characters" per line and formatting / line breaks in your emails?

How Many Fall Back Fonts Should I use?

Hi there! I’m trying to add a custom fonts to my email template following these instructions and establish my fall back fonts.My desired brand font ad fall back fonts:Desired branded font: Poppins Fall back font 1: Open Sans Fall back font 2: New York Fall back font 3: san-serifMy questions:Is there a limit to the number of fall back fonts you can have? Is 3 ok? What code should I use to best execute my desired brand font and fall back fonts? Open Sans is known to be a good default web font but it is not available in Klayvio. Limiting the number of items in an array

How can I show just part of an event variable that’s around 4-5 words? For example, the product title variable {{ event.extra.line_items.0.product.title }} is 6 words but I only want to show the first 3.

Best email width for Outlook Mobile App on ios?

Hi Klaviyo Community! I work on newsletters for a company and am seeing some issues with rendering in the mobile outlook app.The email is currently set to a total width of 600px. There are two columns and each is set to 300px wide. Though they are the same widths, the images show up uneven in the outlook mobile app on ios (the image in the right column displays much larger than left, making the left column image smaller with space from the bg color on the top and bottom to fill the space.) I tried using percents instead of a pixel width and saw the same issue. I have tried some smaller pixel widths and those are looking better.Does anyone know the set width be for emails in mobile to display correctly in the outlook mobile app? (Also, is there a way for percents to work for outlook in mobile?) Thank you in advance!

How to convert a html email template to work with Klaviyo?

I know that importing a standard HTML template into Klaviyo breaks the drag-and-drop feature and editor capabilities but surely there is a way to edit/modify existing HTML email templates to work with Klaviyo’s editor, right? I saw the workaround tutorial on how to add blocks to existing email templates but that doesn’t solve the true issue of being able to edit the existing blocks in an imported HTML template. So the question is, why not? How can this be done on a scalable level?

Full Width Images Retains Padding (Not Actually Full Width)

Hello, When inserting an image into the blocks, full width is selected; however, the system retains padding of 18px on the left and right and 9px on the top/bottom. I have toggled “full width on mobile” which does not work.  I have attempted to change the padding to 0px left/right. When I toggle the Padding, their is a “lock” that unlocks and I am able to change the padding to 0px left/right. I relock this and it “seems” like it keeps the 0px padding. However, this is NOT the case.  Even after saving, the system reverts to 18px left/right padding. My issue is I need to have the images full width.  An auto 18px padding is NOT full width. There is no border or white space in my original images. I do not need to crop my images.  It is only when I insert these into the block that it then automatically adds the 18px left/right padding to the sides. I have attempted every scenario of unlocking/relocking/unlocking, etc.  Still, every test on mobile screens (Litmus testing, etc.) still shows a
