Segment definition "is not in segment."
Hi Klaviyo community,I wanted to start a thread about an issue in Klaviyo that there doesn’t seem to be much discussion around (unless I’m missing something).Let’s say you have a Newsletter list, and that you’ve segmented that list into a few engaged segments. For example, Engaged but Never Ordered (ENO), Engaged & Have Ordered 1+ Times (EO1), and Engaged & Have Ordered 3+ Times (EO3).Now let’s say you want to send an email to everyone in your Newsletter list that isn’t in one of those three engaged segments -- in other words, your unengaged profiles from your newsletter list. The simple solution would be to create a segment that says “Is in Newsletter list and is not in segment ENO and is not in segment EO1 and is not in segment EO3.” Now, between your unengaged segment and your three engaged segments, you would have your whole list covered dynamically, with no profiles slipping through the cracks. However, in Klaviyo there's no segment definition that is "is not in segment."Ins
Sending campaign to those that did not confirm subscription
Hi all,I cannot seem to find a solid answer, both here in the forums or elsewhere. What is the legality regarding sending a follow-up message to those that did not complete the double opt-in? We have a very large segment of folks that did not complete their double opt-in, for whatever reason, and we would hate to miss out on that potential revenue. We currently have a sign-up form set up to encourage subscribing again to those that did not complete the double opt-in, but we’d like something that captures more people if possible. Could we send them a one time campaign asking for them to confirm, or to resubscribe? From my understanding that would then be considered spam, right, because we’d be messaging them when they weren’t subscribed? Thank you for any help! .
Create segment by $source from subscribe link
Ultimately, I want to place a subscribe link in my Instagram stories, and then those customers who sign up to our main list via that link are segmented by having signed up via IG.I have read through multiple community & support articles but none seem to directly address my situation. It seems that the best way to do this is to create a segment by $source. ($source would be IG Stories.)I know I can create a link to the subscribe page, which can be placed on an IG story. However, the $source associated with these signups will just be the Subscribe Page, and isn’t specifically indicating the customers came from IG. (I tested this, and the profile didn’t show that the signup came from IG.)From another post:Additionally, if you are using a Klaviyo sign-up form, we will track a $source value along with the form submit. You can create a segment using $source (Properties about someone > $source equals “name of Klaviyo signup form”) AND is in list X to group everyone who has signed-up thr
Add holiday booking time to profile property
Hi, I’m doing email marketing for a campsite. I would like to send a flow to people before and after arrival. The booking system used is not integrated with Klaviyo - so what is the easiest way to add time of arrival into my subscribers’ profile? If the only way is to do it manually - will it then be possible to - for example - upload an excel-file with emails of people who have booked (without a specific date) and have the system automatically ad a “booked” tag to those profiles? Any suggestiones? Kind regards,Kristine
Profiles in Segment. Where are they coming from?
Hello! I created a new segment of profiles that are NOT suppressed and have received 0 emails over time. The list is very large and I am trying to figure out where these people are coming from and if it is ok to send an email campaign to them. They are not on my Main list which is rather confusing. I am fairly new to Klayvio and email marketing in general so I am struggling to understand these sort of things. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Automate property update of an email list feeding form my database server every time
What we are thinking to put into operation, if it is possible using Klaviyo is automate teh update of email list We have created previously in Klaviyo. We want Kaviyo to call a URL on our server from time to time in which it would be delivered email list data in JSON or CSV format so that Klaviyo updates the properties associated with every email. We wanted a straightforward and simple way so as not to overcomplicate with the API. We do not know if this is possible.Something similar to as if you periodically upload new CSV of contacts but in a periodic and automated way to keep Klaviyo's list updated with that of our database on our server It would also be useful if from our server we can call from time to time a URL that we define in Klaviyo and the emails will be passed in CSV or JSON format for Klaviyo to update or add to its email listSorry my english, thank you in advance

Uploaded profiles were not uploaded to a List
Hi Guys, I’ve recently signed up for Klaviyo and integrated my mailchimp account across to Klaviyo. In our Mailchimp account, we have several different audiences for different websites etc. When integrating I made the mistake of not selecting a specific list and it bought across all the contacts (when I only need some of them). is it possible to undo this integration or what is the best way of erasing the unwanted contacts in my klaviyo account but, not erasing anything in my mailchimp account. Thanks,
What happens if an email is on a list you want to send a campaign to, and a list you don't want it to go to?
I have created a form to collect emails of people who want to opt out of certain, one-off promotions (like Mothers’ Day) thinking that I could then select the list that collects submissions when creating the campaign, using the ‘do not send’ section. But, I realise the submitted email addresses will still be on our main list(s) that we will be sending the campaign to. If an email address is on both a list/segment you are selecting to send to, and one you are selecting not to send to, does the campaign get sent to the email address in question, or not? Which overrides the other in this instance?

How to Track Unique Purchases for One Profile?
Hey Community, Looking for some assistance on how to best sort my profile data if I’m an event company. I know who is buying from my manifests but I want to be able to know which events a particular profile has attended. Currently when I upload a list of attendees, it’ll purge the existing profile emails which doesn’t help me identify which events this profile has attended. Thanks for any help!
Creating segments for customers who are weekly or fortnightly subscribers
My business is based on subscribers who order weekly or fortnightly as well as customers who order a box here and there. At the beginning of the week I send my subscribers an email as a reminder that their box is coming and if they want to order any additional produce. I need to send this email to all weekly subscribers and the relevant fortnightly subscribers. It needs to exclude those subscribers who have put their subscription on hold. Then at the end of the week I send an produce update email to all the subscribers and customers who ordered for that week only. It needs to exclude those subscribers who decided to put their subscription on hold or cancelled their order since receiving the email at the beginning of the week.I’m using WooCommerce and wondering how to set up all these segments as I have tried and not been successful. Also new to Klaviyo. Any advice is very, very welcomed.
How can I gather pregnancy-related data to send emails related to their trimester?
The SituationI am building a life-time order flow for a pregnancy-related products. We currently ask people their stage, but this does not give us enough detail.Instead, I need to create a property that allows me to estimate their approx. birth week by asking them how many weeks they are.The idea is to have an integer property “weeks_pregnant_at_sign_up”I will attempt to get them to complete this on signup and if they don’t prompt them to complete this via emails. The GoalI need to create two custom integer properties without assigning a value via a subscriber’s profile as I do not know what this is. One will be: “weeks_pregnant_at_sign_up”Another is: “estimated_weeks_till_birth” - which can positive and negative.I will then have a Flow which runs every day updating “estimated_weeks_till_birth” which I will use in my flows to recommend relevant products, tips and other information. The Questions#1. Is there an easy way (not using an API ideally) to create the two integer values propertie
Having trouble uploading new emails from spreadsheet?
Hello! I need someone’s help. I have a list of emails in a spreadsheet I need to add to our email subscribers, but somehow it won’t upload due to there being columns present. The thing is - there are no extra columns. I deleted all extra columns and rows, converted the spreadsheet to a CSV, even moved it over a new spreadsheet and downloaded it as a CSV. Opened the downloaded version and turned that into a csv from Numbers on Mac. What am I doing wrong? Nothing seems to be working.
I would love to see segment based custom reports on the roadmap.I’m doing a 2021 review of an email program and the segments are based on some very useful data points. Not being able to easily report on their growth over time seems like a big oversight.I know I can go into each segment and go into the reports from there, but surely adding this to the custom reports can’t be too much of a leap? It’s incredibly time consuming if you have a lot.
How do I set up segments so that I have one list, multiple offers that a subscriber would want them all?
There are multiple forms to be added to my only list. From there, I want everyone to go through the nurture flow once but depending on the action of the subscriber, they will receive a different welcome flow.I've contacted support about how to set it up and was given instructions about how to use 'source' as a property and depending on the source filter, a subscriber will receive a different flow. That is working BUT now there is a problem because it is highly likely that a subscriber will want to have all of the initial offers that I use to build my list. For example:1. PDF download2. Unique product #1 (or #2, #3, etc)3. Clearance Sales4. Birthday Club5. Unequal number of member/s in signup forms and list and segments
Hello, guys! Nice meeting you all.I’m Aljon from Philippines, new to Klaviyo!I am just curious why I cannot view the same number of member/s under “sign-up forms” and “Lists and Segments”. This is just for trial and practice and I already have one (1) new subscriber and I can view it under “Sign-up form” but still zero (0) in “Lists and Segments”.Hoping I explained it correctly. Thank you guys in advance! Regards!
Creating segments but there are data descrepancies
Hi, Im trying to create segments based on web actions. So for example for jewellery customers I have created a segment for jewellery views, a segment for add to basket, and a segment for buyers. I would have assumed there would be loads of views, a lot of add to baskets, and a few sales. but this isnt the case. If we have had 373 jewellery buyers, why is there only 52 jewellery add to carts ( I havent excluded purchases from this segment)? and again with views how do we only have 132 jewellery views? Also we just had an order with someone who is on our klaviyo database and bought a kimono. Ive just checked but they are not added to our kimono buyer segment. I know for a fact that they bought something from the kimonos&gowns category, so why do they not get added? instead they get added to potential buyers? is there a way that i can stop this data decay? Thanks :)
