Abandon Cart - Dynamic Coupon - Back to Cart Link

@Kristen BL  If you’re on Shopify, then yes this is definitely possible.Here is the full documentation for auto-applying links but here is the structure for checkout abandonment & Klaviyo dynamic coupons: {{ event.extra.checkout_url }}&discount={% coupon_code 'CouponName' %} Note: this is for a flow triggered by started checkout vs. add to cart as those are technically different events and have different info.

Klaviyo vs Yotpo

@ssicaje I personally haven’t run into these issues and haven’t heard anything from my clients/students but in full transparency, I’m not working INSIDE people’s businesses much anymore so can’t speak to the day-to-day issues.  If it’s hindering you that much and their support has tanked, then that is generally a good enough reason for me to make a platform switch. While Klaviyo’s review product isn’t as robust at the moment, based on the info @ebusiness pros shared above about the future of the functionality, that sounds pretty damn promising and it could convince me to recommend that instead.  If the current Klaviyo reviews product meets your needs, I would take the leap.  Otherwise you can check out some of the other platforms that were recommended such as Judge.me, Loox, or even Reviews.io. They’re all solid options depending on your unique needs.  Not an eCommerce one, but I recently just made a platform switch in my business and just not having the issues taking up mental space h

Klaviyo vs Yotpo

@stephen.trumble Thanks for the tag. @Murray Finlayson - I haven’t used Yotpo in a long time. They were only reviews back then so I’ve never used their email platform, but... Food for Thought:I typically stay away from all-in-ones because in my experience when a development company or SaaS platform is trying to do all the things, they either do none of them well, their customer service suffers, or both. Note: this is purely a pre-conceived notion based on past experience and not specific to Yotpo That said, I generally say the best email platform is the one you’ll use consistently.  My go-to tech stack: Klaviyo Stamped Reviews & Rewards (this combo lets you reward points for reviews.  How I Use It:Integrate Stamped with Klaviyo to store current point balance and referral links as custom profile properties Use Klaviyo’s dynamic show/hide block feature to display customer’s current point value or invite them to join the program in every email Create a custom web feed to display stamp

Feature Request: Dynamic Sender Email Address

@ryanev Have you tried using Klaviyo’s if/else statements? I’ve never tried using them in the from name, so I’m not sure if it’s possible - but worth a shot.  Here is the documentation for that.

Mystery Coupon

@Bon123 The easiest way I can think of to do this would be to only deliver the discount by email vs. showing on the success page and then in the flow use a random conditional split to separate people into two paths. One path gets discount A, the other path gets discount B.  Each random conditional split creates 2 paths so if you wanted to offer a third discount level (discount C) you’d have to add another random conditional split on one of your paths. hope that helps and interested to see if someone else had another way to do it!

Create a flow from a segment

@ThomasLéa  You’ll need to trigger the flow by the segment they are added to after filling out the form. Here is the documentation for that: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003040052 Filling out a form isn’t a flow trigger.

Static or dynamic?

@SamanSaffari  If you still want the coupon codes to be unique to each customer here are two ways to accomplish this. Note: you won’t be able to use dynamic expiration dates because they’ll all get created in at the same time vs. when the email sends.1. Pre-Generate in Klaviyo you’ll have to confirm (it’s been a while since I’ve done this) but you should be able to update the parameters of that code inside of Shopify because pre-generated codes get added in one group vs. smaller chunks. 2. Use a Shopify App to Pre-Generate & Upload to Klaviyo - These will for sure be added into one group in Shopify & any new codes will be added to that group as well. This documentation walks you through how to import them to Klaviyo

How to send customers from a second Shopify instance to Klaviyo?

@ConnorBo  Because Klaviyo can only be installed on one Shopify instance you’d need to do this through the API, which if you don’t have the resources/desire to create your own integration you can just use Zapier. You would create a custom event metric - you could call it Event Gifts for example. Then in the properties of the event, you include the product they received.  If you sometimes give out more than one product, by default they’ll be listed in the same field by Shopify when the order comes in. If you want them separated you’ll need to add a formatter step in Zapier.

Is there an experiation timer for {{ event.extra.checkout_url }}?

@Dan343  Any expiration would likely have to come from your eCommerce platform as that’s what Klaviyo is using to direct people back to it.  While Shopify for example doesn’t expire carts as far as I know, it also doesn’t hold merchandise for people. An item could sell out before the customer comes back to buy, so I usually that verbiage instead of expiring cart.

How can I activate create two separate welcome flows based on what the subscriber is interested in?

@BeautyCopywriter94  The profile property won’t show up in the dropdown if it doesn’t exist anywhere in Klaviyo yet. Your best bet so you can truly test is to either go to your profile and add it manually, or enter your information in the signup form. You’ll need to use two separate profiles so you can add the two different values.

Change URL destination for klclick link?”

@joyceikong  Unfortunately, Klaviyo doesn’t have the ability to update links of emails that were already sent.  If it’s a broken link you can set up a redirect for it in your eCommerce platform.  If it’s just the wrong link, as in you duplicated an old email and forgot to update it - you’ll have to either send out a correction or you can create a pop-up that only shows on the destination page and is targeted to the segment of customers you sent the email to that says, looking for this? Then link them to the correct place.

Missing "Add Codes" button in Klaviyo Coupons when I click the 3 dots

@simonb  If you’re sending it through a campaign you have to pre-generate them. You’ll also have to pre-generated the number of coupons for the total number of emails you’re sending, not how many subscribers you’re sending to because Klaviyo won’t know that subscriber already has a coupon until you send it. So if you’re sending 2 emails to 50 subscribers, you’ll have to generate 100 coupons.  They’ll only be auto-generated went sent through an automated flow.

Will Klaviyo get proper templates in future?

@Ben  Gotcha. I haven’t experienced this as far as I know.I usually just use the styles set on the email level when I create the template and then pull that in as a starting point for any flow email or duplicate for campaign emails. It’s rare I have any styling inside the individual blocks.

Will Klaviyo get proper templates in future?

@Ben  Have you not set your styles at the email level? This will apply to all blocks unless you override them in the WYSIWYG or individual block editor. You can set spacing, font-size, color, etc. It won’t run across all emails, but once you have your base template you can just duplicate.  Or am I misunderstanding your question?

How to start a Flow when I add a Tag in a Shopify Order

@QuentinJ  Correct, you cannot because the order data flows into Klaviyo before the tag is added. Even if it’s added at the time of an order through an app, in my experience it still doesn’t show in Klaviyo because it technically happens after the order is placed.  Essentially, you would need to send a custom event to Klaviyo for this to trigger a brand new flow. I’ve never created a custom event for an order update, so I don’t have an exact way to do it - but my best guess would be through Shopify Flow or Zapier. This article talks about what you can do with the Shopify Flow & Klaviyo Connector - You would need:adding an order tag to be a trigger in Shopify Flow an action to create a custom event in Klaviyo.  The other option is Zapier. Adding an order tag isn’t a Shopify zap trigger, but if you get the order data on a spreadsheet you can use an update to the sheet to trigger a zap where you send the custom event to Klaviyo Hope that helps!

@smileyrox  I would give a quick test with the ordered product trigger instead of placed order. You SHOULD be able to add the attribute on the trigger so it only pulls in people who ordered products will that attribute selected.  This way you don’t need to say ordered product with attribute in the last X days. Cause I see how that could screw up your logic for the later emails.

@arbrador 99% of Klaviyo users aren’t adding subscribers manually, so it’s a pretty rare use case. Plus, custom properties don’t exist on profiles unless they have data in them.  But you can add it at the same time you’re adding the subscriber to save a step like this:   Navigate to the list you’re adding someone toChoose import subscribers from the dropdownSwitch to copy and paste csvType out your info in the required format as shown in the placeholder textMap your profile propertiesImport the subscriber

@arbrador  If you want to add people manually just search their email in the bar at the top and add the profile property from the details section of their profile with the add custom property button As you enter it on each profile make sure you’re typing out exactly the same way. Profile property names and values are case sensitive.  Gender is a different property than genderfemale is a different value than Female

@arbrador  To bulk update profile properties ie. gender, you’ll have to do that through an upload. The same would be true for Klaviyo fields that can be updated.Here’s how to import custom data through a CSV.Note: Custom properties don’t exist on a profile unless they have data. When uploading Klaviyo is using the email address to match up the user with their new data. This is the unique identifier in the platform. No one will be duplicated. I will typically use a separate list inside Klaviyo when importing profile property data just to be sure I don’t accidentally add anyone to a list that didn’t ask to be there or unexpectedly trigger any automations.  Moving forward you’ll have to actively collect that information through a form, button click, or preference. If your account qualifies you can use Klaviyo’s predicted analytics, which includes predicted gender. For instance, you can create segments of predicted genders, then trigger a flow by each segment, and put a create profile prop

Shopify/Klaviyo: is there a way to send better product recommendations?

@AC0 Klaviyo recommendations are unique to each subscriber unless it doesn’t have enough data on that individual - in that case they’d default to best sellers. They also will never recommend an item the customer has already purchased.  Have you tested this out with some specific subscribers? If you preview the email as a specific email you’ll see exactly what they’ll see - so you can get a sense of how accurate the product recommendations are. It’s probably not as good as a 3rd party tool that focuses on personalization, but in my experience they’ve been pretty good.  Depending on how many product categories you have, you COULD use dynamic content to show different product feeds in the same email. You’d have to tag people’s profiles to do it and then create separate product feeds based on the product categories but it’s doable.  The only thing to watch out for is the size of your email.  Other’s have mentioned here that even though the content isn’t visible for the subscriber, the code
