Is there a way to know where an email lands (i.e., general inbox, spam/junk, or tabbed inbox) after it's sent?F.A.Q.

When an email is delivered to the recipient, it is up to the inbox provider (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, etc.) to determine where the email is placed. Email service providers, including Klaviyo, do not receive any feedback on where the email was placed. However, reviewing your open rates allows you to get a sense of where your emails landed. If you are seeing low open rates, that indicates that the email was placed in an inbox that has low visibility (e.g., spam/junk).

HELP! DNS Record for Google Domains

I’m having an issue with Google Domains while making the DNS change updates, but want to make sure this isn’t something that can be changed in Klaviyo or if there’s a workaround!Simple issue: Google Domains doesn’t accept multiple identical host names, which is what Klaviyo has in their updates. It keeps giving an error under the 2nd, 3rd and 4th record that the “host name is already in use”.Does this mean that I’ll have to go with static, instead of dynamic? Or is there a workaround for this? I’ve looked at the help articles, nothing talks about the host names needing to be different. For some reason it won’t let me attach the screenshots.

Question on "viewed product" "active on site" in the metrics

Hi,I am curious on how you guys define “active on site” and “viewed product”. Because in my cohort analysis, the number seem to be much lower consider the amount of traffic the site is getting.For example, if a user come to my site the first time and entered his email and continued browsing products, does klaviyo count that as 1 “viewed product” and 1 “active on site”? or does this user has to come to site again, and until then klaviyo will track that metrics?Can someone explain exactly how this works? THX

Updating DNS records, warming

Hi, Extremely new to this, please excuse the dumb question, I have read the instructions on how to set up a dedicated sending domain. My question is, when I go into my domain provider to update the DNS records, am I adding new CNAME records and TXT record to the list of existing ones already there, or replacing the ones listed with the new ones from Klaviyo? I imagine I am probably supposed to add new ones but I have no idea what any of this is so I wanted to check first before I screw something up. Second question, I am setting up a brand new store & website through Wix (not even live yet) and setting up my email marketing. I have no site clicks, no emails sent yet, or anything whatsoever. My domain has been registered for a little over a month but not live on the web yet. Do I follow the standard warming or platform warming process??Thank you!!

Shopify Sales by Traffice Referrer and Klaviyo

Hi Everyone, Admin - Sorry if this is in the incorrect sub-forum. I believe this is analytics question however it could also be Integration.  I did a search here and couldn't find anything similar. On my Shopify site under Reports > Sales by Traffic Referrer I am not seeing Klaviyo. The only thing I can see that is similar would be Email (Referrer name Gmail). However, this does not match the Klaviyo side.Anyone have experience with this before?

Avoiding the spam folder?

We’ve noticed that many of our emails have been going to junk. We have a pretty good open rate, but we’d love to know if there was a better way to avoid the junk folder, especially for those that want to receive our emails? Is there some back end setting we may be missing?

Default Klaviyo Properties not showing up

I’m working on a brand new Woocommerce site that is NOT live yet..the Klaviyo integration seems to be working fine (I see active on site and checkout started data), however, I don’t see any of the default Klaviyo property data when I’m trying to create flows. Is it because the site is not live and has no orders?Also, my signup form is not being detected on the site - is this also because the site’s not live?

Yes, the same dedicated sending domain can be shared amongst other Klaviyo accounts. Does the new account need to warm up the domain again? If the domain is already warmed up by a different Klaviyo account, the new Klaviyo account does not need to warm up the sending domain again. However, it’s important to be cognizant of the performance of all Klaviyo accounts that are using the same sending domain, as it will affect the sender reputation of that one domain.

I ran a spam test on my account and it is saying that my emails are going to spam. What should I do?F.A.Q.

Spam test tools are a great way to quickly gauge the sender’s inbox placement; however, you should ultimately focus more on your Klaviyo data instead of over-relying on seed list test results. If your results indicated that there is a widespread spam issue for your account, you would see this reflected in open rates. We always recommend comparing the seed list test results with their Klaviyo data. For example, if the seedlist test reports that a high percentage of emails sent to Gmail were placed in spam folders, then we would expect the open rates to reflect that (i.e., lower open rates). Advanced reports of campaigns and flows are the best place to look within Klaviyo. For more information on  How to Monitor Deliverability Performance, check out this article.

Why do Recipients Open an Email Multiple Times in the Same Minute?

I noticed that most of the profiles that opens an email, opens it more than once. In many cases, the report shows two or more opens in the same minute or in a short period of time. Why does that happen? I find it unusual that so many customers opens the same email several times in a row.Maybe I set something wrong?

Having trouble's installing "added to cart" metric into klaviyo for one of my clients

Hey guys, I’m having trouble installing one of the following metrics.That being added to cart.On my clients shopify store, I have inspected the element of the add to cart button and even applied both snippets (to testing reasons) for id and class. Obviously I’ve followed instructions to paste the snippet of code under the product.liquid fileFor you information, my clients “add to cart” button has a class notation.However, when I use the alternate code snippet and modify it, still does not show the metric in klaviyo.I also want to point out that the add to cart button on my clients store is automated to pulse frequently switching from:class=”ProductForm__AddToCart Button Button--secondary Button--full vtl-aa-animated-atc-button”toclass=”ProductForm__AddToCart Button Button--secondary Button--full vtl-aa-animated-atc-button vtl-aa-active”I believe this is the main reason klaviyo can’t identify the added to cart metric.If anyone knows anyway to bypass this, or if I am installing the code

How can I find what products were sold only from emails?

Hi, I’m aware of how to find what products were sold for each campaign, but I can’t find a way to see the total products sold for all emails including flows. I’ve ran a product performance report using the info from Klaviyo here: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047083252-How-to-Build-a-Product-Performance-Report But this only seems to give me total products sold across the entire store, not only the products that the emails helped sell. I can get total products sold from Shopify, what we really need in Klaviyo is to know is what products sell through the email channel. If you’ve found a way to see what products were sold for any emails, please let me know.

Google Analytics Tracking

I’m looking to set up tracking of my flows and campaigns in Google Analytics. When I select Campaign Value as the static option of Klaviyo - this reports as ‘other’ in Google analytics rather than ‘email’ - can anyone suggest how I make sure this is tracking as Email rather than other?

Total Revenue from Email campaign not matching google analytics (off by 97%)

Hi Klaviyo peeps,My revenue for a cart abandonment email comes in at $33900 on Klaviyo, but only $1656 on Google Analytics. Any ideas why the discrepancy is so large? And which number is closer to accurate!?  Thank you in Advance!Mathew

Why are Emails to mac accounts bouncing?

My personal email is a mac account. I subscribed to my list and was able to successfully send a preview email to my mac address. This happened twice and now all emails are bouncing. Not in junk/spam folders, just flat out bouncing. I had my husband check his mac address and same thing, all emails are bouncing. Does anyone know why this is happening, or more importantly how I can fix it? I can’t unsubscribe and start over as I am not receiving the emails.Both mac addresses were migrated over from a previous Shopify list. I would think that’s it, however I was able to receive two preview emails just fine. I made sure the sender email address (which I receive emails from just fine) was added to contacts. Are email addressesv using mac.com compatible with Klaviyo? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Does Klaviyo really not convert currencies for analytics and reports?

I’ve noticed that the performance dashboard and custom reports in analytics are not converting sales/revenue to a single currency. So I have sales in USD, EUR, JPY, etc. all being lumped into 1 revenue figure...which does not paint a clear picture whatsoever. I read that such currency conversion is only available in Benchmarks...How is this possible? There must be a way to easily convert different currencies into just 1 for reporting and analytical purposes...Otherwise, how can those figures be useful?

How can I pass a custom event through a legacy form?

Hi! I’ve hit a bit of a wall with creating a custom event to trigger a email flow. Here’s the situation:We created a Klaviyo Legacy Form to capture customer info. This uses FormData. We used this option because we needed the form to have dynamic hidden fields (based on the user’s answers to a quiz). We would like to create a custom event that sends a “submits form” event to Klaviyo to trigger a flow each time someone submits the form. (Creating a flow that is triggered based on someone being added to a list does not work for our use case, as we want someone to get this email flow if they submit the form multiple times). We’ve been told the best way to create this custom event is through custom API, but this requires a JSON-object to pass the event over. Normally, it would not be a problem to add code to send JSON through FormData, but it appears that Klaviyo views a FormData-object as an endpoint.Based on the information above, does your team have any insight on how to create a custom

I set up a dedicated sending domain before, but I notice that my emails are not sending from that domain. Why's that?F.A.Q.

After you’ve added in the CNAME records in your Klaviyo account settings, there are two more steps to the process of creating a dedicated sending domain. Once you’ve added your CNAME records, click on the “Continue to Verify” button to allow Klaviyo to confirm whether the CNAME records are present or not. If all the records are present, you will see the “Continue to Verify” button change to “Apply Domain”. Click “Apply Domain” and confirm that you would like to move forward to apply the dedicated sending domain. If you only verified the domain and did not apply it, you will continue to send on Klaviyo’s shared sending domain.  Another reason why you may see that your emails are no longer sent on your dedicated sending domain is due to your domain’s DNS. Make sure that the Klaviyo CNAME records are still present within your domain’s DNS. If they are no longer there, Klaviyo cannot make use of the dedicated sending domain. Also, outages can happen with DNS. During a DNS outage, the CNAME

Identifying Our List's Churn Rate?

Hi!How do we find the analytics/data that shows when (i.e., how long after signing up) subscribers are unsubscribing from our list? We’d like to get a better handle of our email list’s retention/churn rates.Then we’d like to look into similar figures, such as the average time that someone is a subscriber to our various lists/segments.So -- How long are they with us? and At what point do they tend to drop off? Order/Revenue Attribution Not Showing for Campaign

I sent a campaign on 12/23 and know orders were placed from clicking a link in that email and nothing is showing in placed orders or revenue. All the metrics are showing in customer profiles (active on site, added to cart, placed order, fulfilled order), but not on the campaign report. We just moved from 3dcart to WooCommerce and I know with 3dcart the sync time was a few hours- with WooCommerce it syncs in real time. Is there something I’m missing as to why the order/revenue attribution would not be working? Thanks!
