Never subscribed but receiving campaigns

I contacted a brand using an email address that turned out to be their "from address" in Klaviyo marketing. Despite not receiving a reply, I started receiving their marketing campaigns after about two weeks. How could I have been added to their email list?

Segment by tags coming up empty

I am trying to create a segment based on customers who have bought a certain product from my Shopify store. I have tagged the product in Shopify.  My segment keeps coming up empty even though I know there should be customers in this segment. I have waited 30 minutes and refreshed several times.

Import exact language customer signup popup

I have a problem. I have a multilingual English and Italian site. The default language is English. I created two Pop-ups, one for Italian customers in Italian and the other in English for non-Italian customers. However, every time I import a contact into Shopify, regardless of the pop-up (English or Italian), the email notifications for the contacts imported into the Shopify list are in English (Shopify's default language). How can I ensure that whoever filled out the Italian pop-up can receive notifications from Shopify in Italian and vice versa?

I am just starting out and not quite understanding the distribution of my imports…I imported 4,684 contacts into my newsletter list. The newsletter list only shows 1,524 contacts. My total active profiles are 4,356. I have suppressed some, some contacts have suppressed. I only have one static newsletter list to which I have imported contacts.Why am I not seeing the total number of contacts I imported in the newsletter list?Can a contact exist in multiple segments? Can a contact exist in multiple lists?If I delete a list, will the contact’s profile also be deleted? Or is that a separate process?I have connected square to my account. Does Klaviyo automatically pull all my contacts over, or do I load them manually? If square pulls them over where are they represented? My understanding is that the newsletter list should represent all my imports I loaded into that list- correct? Then the segments pull from the newsletter list based on the rules. As an example I import 100 contacts into my n

Klaviyo Link Wrapping issue with Tracking Link

Hello, We’re currently trying to create a new Shipping Template after connecting Starshipit API to Klaviyo.After creating a button and linking the dynamic tag for Tracking URL, Klaviyo uses its inbuild link wrapping and generates its own URL instead of taking the raw source link.  This results that carriers URL’s are running into errors.Is there any guidance or advise to disable the klaviyo link wrapping so it will use for this template the raw urls? Any other advise how to achieve that? We can use Shopify dynamic tags or Starshipit ones. I’ve contacted Klaviyo Support but they couldn’t figured out yet. Thank you in advance!

Receiving Mailchimp removal request

 Hello Klaviyo community!We migrated from Mailchimp to Klaviyo over 2 years ago and still have our mailchimp integration on just in case. All email communications we send are from Klaviyo (marketing) or Shopify (for transactional) The odd time (maybe 1 or 2x a month), we’ll receive this automated email from mailchimp to remove a contact that has requested, which i then remove their profile that we have in Klaviyo.Does anyone know why this wouldn’t come to Klaviyo as a request? Secondly, when I go to look at said customer, they’ve JUST subscribed to our main newsletter the moment we get this email. It’s very few and far but I am curious if anyone knows why it goes through Mailchimp and also what this request looks like from a customer’s point of view.

Where do these fake profiles come from?

Hello all,Since January 12 2024 every day there are about 5-7 fake profiles being created in my Klaviyo database. They all have English / American names, e-mail addresses that don’t match the name and location is set to “Germany”. Klaviyo does not show any “Activities” for that user and also no source or reference is listed - and yet the profiles are created with full name and e-mail address.Where do those profiles come from? I do not have a sign up form, other than the checkout in Shopify, that collects Name and E-Mail Address together, but the profiles do not seem to come via Shopify checkout. Does anyone have any ideas where they could come from and what I can do to avoid this spam?Thank you.

Segement Export via API doesnt include all field

Hi all! Hope you are doing great :)Context: I am trying to integrate members from  Klaviyo to our ERP (Dynamics NAV). To achieve this, I need to export Klaviyo members on (at-most) daily basis. Issue: When I export a segment of my members (Python), it ONLY exports ID and email address. If I export the segment via the UI, it lets me choose what information I need. My imported list won't link up with my accepts marketing segment

Hi There, I’m new to Klaviyo so apologies if I’m missing something here, I’ve received a full list of email addresses that have opted into receive marketing. I’ve uploaded them to a list but they haven’t been pulled into my accepts marketing segment.  The segmentation of my ‘accepts marketing’ list is below can someone point out what I'm doing wrong please?

Bulk Upload Property Filters for a Segment

I have a list of around 300 custom properties we are using and I’d like to find a way to bulk upload them to a segment definition filter. Right now it seems like my only option is manually enter them as “OR” filters but this is very time consuming for so many properties. Surely there has to be an easier way to do this?

How do I get a "manage preferences" link for inclusion in our product?

Since Klaviyo is the source of truth whether a user is subscribed or not, we want to provide a link from our web app to the preferences for that user on klaviyo’s side.  However, for the life of me, I cannot find a link for this. I expected some global link where we pass in a URL encoded email address or user ID. In email campaigns you create within klaviyo, you can use the syntax `{% manage_preferences %}` or `{% manage_preferences_link %}`, Unfortunately that link looks dynamic and not consistent even for a given user. I found a year old post that seems to indicate this is only possible with HOSTED pages:https://community.klaviyo.com/lists-segments-and-profiles-35/is-there-a-way-to-change-default-link-for-manage-preferences-tag-6569?postid=26616#post26616 However, this seems crazy to require a full blown custom page for this scenario. Segment conditions pulled in the wrong customers

Hi,I created a segment which I used for a discount campaign yesterday. I wanted this segment to go to people who had subscribed to my newsletter over 90+ days ago and had yet to make a purchase.However, I had numerous returning customers receive this discount - which wasn’t my intention. I’m trying to understand why there were customers who have already purchased from me in this segment? (screenshot below). I thought the condition ‘placed order zero times over all time’ would have excluded returning customers?Thanks

How to assign dynamic Profile Property value at sign up

Hi,I’m looking for a way to assign a unique code to a user at sign up which they can pass on to friends as a unique referral code. It feels like a dynamically generated Profile Property value would work here, but I’m completely new here, so not sure if I can’t find how to do that or if it’s not a thing in Klaviyo.Toying with the idea of using a 0.01 value voucher code but can’t work out how to, or if I can, store that code against a specific user (so we can link referred users, who enter that code at sign up, to the original referring user if you see what I mean)Is there a way I could achieve this use case?

Needing to send required information to an unengaged profile

Hi allI need some advice with regard to how to send necessary company updates (pricing update info) to customers I have suppressed due to low engagement. We send one marketing newsletter once a month, and we regularly move unengaged profiles to the suppressed list… However, annually we need to update our trade customers with our pricing information / file. Whilst it is fine for us to not get them the info if they are unsubscribed, we do need to attempt to send the pricing update to them, and if I have chosen to suppress them due to inactivity, that is unhelpful for them if they do wish to receive the annual pricing update info.How can i navigate this? Suppressed contacts for one type of messaging, but necessary to receive another… and currently they’re not tagged as trade. I am thinking that I need to:import the list of trade customers without updating their subscription status allowing me to ‘tag’ them as trade set up a segment of ‘trade’ and ‘suppressed’ reimport the new segment as ‘

I want to create a segment with the condition based on date set in the future

I have been looking at creating a segment of customers that have an active boking in place for a future (e.g. within next 2 months). The property it should pull from is definitely set and I can see those active in the customer individual profiles, but when I’m trying to apply the definition based on the service being purchased at least once from [today’s date] is not pulling those days correctly, only profiles with today’s date that’s already happened earlier in the day.   Is there a way to have a future condition set (like booked date for service) for something that has been purchased/paid for in the past?
