How to bulk update profile properties , & without wiping out existing data?

We sell a STEM product and have different kits depending on whether you’re a grandparent buying it as a gift for a grandchild, or a teacher purchasing a kit suited to their kindergarten.We’re wanting 1 master list, and to segment that by different verticals that use our products. Our list size is around 5k contacts.We want segments such as “gift buyers,” “kindergarten teachers,” “primary school teachers,” etc.I’m lost as to where to start, have tried to look into tags, segments, properties...So far I suspect it’s best to create custom properties?But I can’t see how to bulk add properties to existing profiles.Do I need to export our list, add the new column/property, then re-upload? I’m so worried it will override the existing profile of each email address!!! But am OK with manually going thru the exported spreadsheet and updating each contact if that’s the best way to do it and it won’t affect other existing profile data when we re-upload.And do I understand right that once we’ve uploa

List and Segmentation on sign up forms

Hi Klaviyo Support Team,I have a question regarding sign up forms and segmentation process. I have designed a sign up form that the subscriber sees a question as “Are you a professional athlete or a beginner? I want them to be added to the professional subscribers segmentation when they click on the word “professional” automatically and it should happen the same when they click on the word “beginner”, but I’m quite confued on how to define such filter, should I apply it on the sign up form or I should design a flow for it?Thank you in advance.

How can I create a segment where it tells me which users have not confirmed the double opt-in?

Since Klaviyo has set ‘Double Opt-In’ as default to our existing lists. It has dropped our open and click rate. And has also created bad user experience since they are not receiving emails they susbcribed to. Our audience is mostly senior 60+ age group and are not tech-savy.Here, I’d like to figure out which users have confirmed and not confirmed the double opt-in to understand how adversely it’s affecting us.If anyone know which parameters I can use to create this segment, please let me know.Thanks!Sanket

Opt-in form sends confirmation

hi,I’m currently testing my opt-in form and made a flow focused on the customers collected in this form but my email made in my flow doesn’t send. instead of that mail it keeps sending a confirmation mail asking if they’re sure they want to subsribe. can somebody help me?

Segmenting out inactive subscribers from unused email list - best practices?

Hi!I'm diving into email marketing for an ecommerce business I'm part of. We've got the basics down with some established flows, but now we're looking to spice things up with win-back flows and cool campaigns. Our main goal is boosting conversions, but we're also excited about educational content, rolling out new products, and more.Here's the thing: we've got this list of around 30k profiles. I'm thinking about giving it a cleaning and warming it up so it's all prepped for our brand's emails. Now, I'm not exactly an expert in this arena – far from it. I've been reading up on win-back and sunset flows, but I'm still not sure if that’s the way to go.I've got a few segments already created, and I'm pretty confident about using them once I figure out who's really up for getting our emails. The question is, how do I get to that point? I know I should segment out inactive subscribers, but how do I know they’re inactive if we have never actually emailed them (beyond the order and shipment con

Shopify integration - can't search lists and not all lists showing

I’ve created a new list for new SMS subscribers to be added to. When trying to change the list which SMS subscribers are added to, I cannot find the new list in the drop down: When trying to use search, the correct list flashes up, but the search input field removes the search term and resets before being able to select. This option is unable to be selected, it is not available as an option - checked in devtools.There seems to be a limit of 150(?) options here, so lists which are not in that dropdown cannot be selected. Is this a bug?

I have a client who is in Canada and segments their list based on a Profile property Language = en or Language = fr. If we use Facebook lead gen ads to synch new emails to their main Newsletter list, is there a way for us to capture data from facebook Facebook to automatically add with the Language property setting based on the ad or form used to capture the lead?

Segmentation inconsistency

I'm trying to isolate various segment lists from each other with the goal of having different communication based on different segments.In particular, I leave you the attached image to make you understand that there is an inconsistency between the various segments: adding up the segments engaged in the last 30 days + 31/60 days + 61/90 days, it appears that the contacts are greater than the mother segment present in tall in the picture.At this point I think there is a contact overlap, but I can't figure out how since the segment definitions look correct.If I did something wrong, can you explain me how to isolate these 3 segments correctly?I need to differentiate users chronologically based on any touch point, as long as they have never placed an order.

Remove all profiles from my account

Hi, I have an old Klaviyo account that I want to get back up and running. I plan to import my current email list from Mailerlite.I have over 100 old profiles still in this old Klayvio account and i would like to erase them all before import my current list.I dont want to keep them because my old business (that they originally signed up for) has changed and i dont want these profiles to skew any data nor be sent emails they didnt ask for.Some of the profiles might also be in my new list and i dont want doubles - especially if they have already unsubscribed from my new list but are still on the old one. I just want to erase and start from new. But i cant work out how to do this. there is n way to select them all and delete. I could my them into a list but even that seems hard?Am i missing something, how can i make this easy?Thanks for any help

How to filter out the converted leads?

Hi everyone, my project is about to remarket the people who submitted a lead form on Facebook, but not converted yet. I have already synced the leads from Facebook to Klaviyo, and then I want to set up an automotive email flow to them from time to time till they converted.The flow is that:#1 email - send out right after they submitted a lead form on Facebook#2 email - send out 7 days after email#1 to those who have submitted a lead form from Facebook but NOT converted yet#3 email - send out 7 days after email#2 to those who have submitted a lead form from Facebook but NOT converted yetHowever, I am not sure how to filter out the converted leads in the #2 and #3 email. It is not reasonable to send them the remarketing emails if they have already converted.What is the trigger for the filtration? Thank you!

Best way to add a custom property showing what events members have attended?

We run events and want to send pre and post event emails to those in our database who are attending. What is the best way to set up a custom property to show this? Should we be creating an “Events” List property with each event attended listed? If so, when we add events down the track can we export an attendee list and import this into Klaviyo with the custom property of [“Event”] added and have that list value ADD to existing Events in the property or will it override? E.g. Customer 1 has been to Event A and Event B. These are listed in their profile already.They then attend Event C and we import a list of these Event C attendees to Klaviyo with [“Event C”] as the Events property.Does Customer 1’s profile update the ‘Events’ custom property to list all 3 events, or are Event A and Event B removed in favour of only listing Event C ? Is there a better way to do this list management?Thanks in advance!Edited to add: We’ve run one event since moving to Klaviyo and set up an entirely differ

Adding a new member to a list via API with first name doesn't work

Hello,I set up a form to subscribe users to a list. I use the API for that. It works when i only add the email to the payload, using the https://a.klaviyo.com/api/v2/list/LIST_ID/subscribe?api_key=API_KEY endpoint.I closely follow the docs, using Guzzle (PHP)But when i try to add a first name to the profile, it doesn”t seem to work.Using the list → subscribe endpoint, i don’t know if it’s possible, and if it is, the expected body request (the one working with the email looks like this : 'body' => '{"profiles":[{"email":"' . $email . '"}]}' Using the identify endpoint (POST), the request returns 1, but no firstname is added to the profile 'data' => '{"token":"MYPUBLICKEY","properties": {"$email": "THEEMAIL", "$first_name":"THEFIRSTNAME"}}' Using the list → members endpoint, i get a 400 Bad Request as soon as i deviate from the base body request with email AND phone number 'body' => '{"profiles":[{"email":"THEEMAIL"},{"first_name":"THEFIRSTNAME"}]}' Can you please help me with

All my emails are tagged "Email Never subscribed"

I’m having a problem where every email in my system says “Email - Never subscribed”, but they have subscribed and opted in. Does anybody know why it does this? How do I fix this?  Also, why is it allowing me to send emails and still have this tag on it? I’m just not understanding what happened. This wasn’t an issue a week ago.

Segment for Ordered Value Product on One Order, Not All

Hello! I am not even sure if this is possible, but I am looking for a way to make a segment for people who have ordered at least 2 times but less than 5, with one of those orders being at least $1k. Is that even possible? I see that the Ordered Product Value is an aggregate value, which would explain why the parameters I am putting in aren’t working. Is there a way to make sure at least one of the orders was over 1k? Thanks so much!

Manually Add profile to the repeat buyer segment

Hi there! I recently migrated from Mailchimp and we replatformed from Squarespace to Shopify. This means that our prior customers order information did not migrate over and when I navigate to the repeat buyer segment in Klaviyo it is not accurate. I want to manually add the profiles of my repeat buyers to this segment but I am not seeing the option. Is there a way to manually add profiles? Thanks,Natalie

Missing data when syncing Facebook leads with Klaviyo audience list

I have successfully created link between Facebook leads and Klaviyo audience list, and I see the audience list reflects some Facebook leads. However, I found there are some leads missing in audience list.For example, on 9 Aug 2023, there were 6 leads from Facebook, but there were only 2 leads(audiences) reflected on Klaviyo.Does anyone know how to fix that? Thank you!

We have 76k customers on shopify but on Klaviyo it only shows 33k active profiles

Hi,For this client of mine, they have 76k customers on Shopify (customers who have given email consent), but on Klaviyo, I can only see 33k active profiles.Can I know how this mismatch usually happens?Also, let me know if, in this case, I can export the 76k customers from Shopify and upload them into Klaviyo.And if I do, can I know how to do it properly?Any help would be appreciated!
