How to bulk update profile properties , & without wiping out existing data?

We sell a STEM product and have different kits depending on whether you’re a grandparent buying it as a gift for a grandchild, or a teacher purchasing a kit suited to their kindergarten.We’re wanting 1 master list, and to segment that by different verticals that use our products. Our list size is around 5k contacts.We want segments such as “gift buyers,” “kindergarten teachers,” “primary school teachers,” etc.I’m lost as to where to start, have tried to look into tags, segments, properties...So far I suspect it’s best to create custom properties?But I can’t see how to bulk add properties to existing profiles.Do I need to export our list, add the new column/property, then re-upload? I’m so worried it will override the existing profile of each email address!!! But am OK with manually going thru the exported spreadsheet and updating each contact if that’s the best way to do it and it won’t affect other existing profile data when we re-upload.And do I understand right that once we’ve uploa

Using Secondary Email in the same account?

Hi all! So I’ve just learned about using a secondary email for marketing emails, which I have set up successfully. What I’m wondering is: can I use both our regular email (which I use for customers that have purchased to give them tips) and the secondary email (for marketing emails only, an email like hi@emails.domain.com) in the same Klaviyo account? Or would that hurt the sending reputation?

How to segment based off a link click in a workflow

Hello Klaviyo Community! 😀 I’ve built out a workflow. In one of the e-mails I introduce them to the 3 main categories of my business.  I’ve linked each category to the relevant category on my site.  However, I’d like to create a list or segment based off link clicks for each category that in essence holds the subscribers that showed an interest in either of the categories.  I read about the update user profile but the problem with this is that if someone clicks on 2 of the links, then only one pulls through. The user should be able to click all 3 if they want to as I just want to be able to market them in future based off what category they clicked on (which shows me what they’re interested in).  Could you kindly let me know how to achieve this?  Warm regards,Rox

NEVER_SUBSCRIBED in Newsletter list

We are new and are trying to sync our subscriber list from Shopify to Klaviyo. Sync for both sides have been enabled.In Shopify we have 2467 subscribers, in Klaviyo it appears we have 2550. We downloaded the file and realised 83 of them have the status ‘NEVER_SUBSCRIBED’. I believe these are Shopify non-subscribers that have been synced to Klaviyo newsletter list, please enlighten how did this happen and how to resolve? Thank you.

Email Verification/Validation Software?

Hello Klaviyo Community!  Does anyone have experience and/or feedback you can share on email verification solutions? For brands that are still using single opt-in, I need a solution to clean and remove typos, spam traps and other risky addresses.  I’ve used Neverbounce in the past, but I know there are several options such as Zerobounce, Kickbox, Debounce, etc. Can you please share any experience and/or recommendations for the best solution?  Thanks in advance! Adam

I have three lists that I want to merge, and assign two different flows to it.

Hello! I’m quite new to Klaviyo and, since my previous provider had a different system, I made a mistake when setting up my lists.I currently have:one list for new subscribers with a discount code one list for new subscribers without a discount code a regular, “main” Marketing list (where everyone would have been directed to before Klaviyo, once they went through their welcome series)Having understood this to be “wrong,” I now wish to have just one single marketing list, but with two Welcome Series flows (one with a discount code, one without).My questions are:How do I add the present Discount and Non-Discount Welcome Series flows to my main Marketing list (since they are currently in the other two separate lists I want to delete) How do I change the flows to point to my Marketing list instead of the current discount and non-discount lists I wish to delete? Is it safe to delete those lists I’ll no longer be using after redirecting all new subscribers to the main list?I hope I’ve explai

Upload Users with consent and double opt-in

Hi community I’m working on migrating to Klaviyo from another system.  I understand that I can set the consent for “EMAIL” easily via CSV upload. I also understand that consent = [“EMAIL”] does not mean double-oped-in in Klaviyo Logic. (What is the difference between double-opted-in and Email-consent?) I understand that when migrating my contacts I’ll definitely lose the double-opt-in information from the previous system and that the workaround would be to resend a double-opt-in Email to the list of imported users - which is not workable as I would lose some of my contacts simply due people not replying (open-rate / click-to-open). Alternatively I could add custom properties to the imported users and stitch together my newsletter segments from the two types:newly joined people who have received a Klaviyo-nativ DOI mail and opted in imported users where the custom properties indicate that the this person gave us at some point in the previous system their double-opt-ed inIs that correct?

Tag customers when they click a specific link

Hi, I’m running a big launch with lots of emails going out this week. I want to give customers the chance to opt-out of getting emails during this launch if they’re not interested in the offer at this time, but still stay on our list. Hoping this will help prevent unsubscribes. In Convertkit this was simple. I have a page on my website called “Opt-out” and I would just hyper-link that page within the email, ie. “opt-out to snooze this launch but stay on our list.” And then I’d set a rule that anyone who clicked that link would be in a different segment “opt-out launch” not be emailed in this campaign. But I can’t find a way to do that here in Klayvio. Anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance for the help!

Sunset Flow

Hello Klaviyo Community, I hope you are having a super day!  Quick question: I am setting up a sunset flow using the Standard Klaviyo template - image attached- According to this article: https://academy.klaviyo.com/improve-your-sunset-flow/1460196 -“If after five days someone has not opened the email (s), a new profile property will be added to their Klaviyo profile to indicate that they should be removed from your list (Unengaged = true).”  My question:  If someone does go ahead and opens either of the two emails in the flow and does not  click unsubscribe using the link provided - Klaviyo will recognize them as engaged and therefore not create a new profile property?  The new profile property will only be created if they don’t open either of the emails, is that correct? Any guidance or help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you. Rox

How to create unengaged segment with condition "didn't engage over the last X number of emails"

Hello Klaviyo community!Hope everyone’s having a good day!I am creating a segment for unengaged profiles, which condition setting contains they receive at least X number of emails and didn't click and open for Y number of days. I am not sure how to figure out the optimized number for this X and Y. I contacted Klaviyo support, and they recommended that “You can modify this number depending on how often you send to your customers and the type of products you sell. If you send daily, make this number higher.”Related document: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005078347The problem is our sending habit (how often we send to our customers) tends to be instable and fluctuate for now. We’re having punch of stores, segments to work on. Klaviyo Flows Attributed Revenue is down drastically for last 30 days

Some of our flows (abandoned cart, welcome series) are showing drops up to 75% in terms of revenue attributed, and opening rates/clicks rates are showing a downward trend. We haven’t changed the flows, so what can be the possible reasons?

Segmenting out inactive subscribers from unused email list - best practices?

Hi!I'm diving into email marketing for an ecommerce business I'm part of. We've got the basics down with some established flows, but now we're looking to spice things up with win-back flows and cool campaigns. Our main goal is boosting conversions, but we're also excited about educational content, rolling out new products, and more.Here's the thing: we've got this list of around 30k profiles. I'm thinking about giving it a cleaning and warming it up so it's all prepped for our brand's emails. Now, I'm not exactly an expert in this arena – far from it. I've been reading up on win-back and sunset flows, but I'm still not sure if that’s the way to go.I've got a few segments already created, and I'm pretty confident about using them once I figure out who's really up for getting our emails. Pre-header is not shown on certain inbox providers

Hi klaviyo community, we use for our emails also the pre-header to promote the content of our mails. But unfortunately we noticed that our pre-header is not shown for certain inbox providers, f.ex. web.de. Instead it shows the snippet from our web view link und the web view link itself, which is part of the email. For other providers like google, yahoo, Apple mail and many others the pre-header is working.  Did someone else experience this issue and maybe found already a way to fix this? BestLaura

Winback Flow for Subscription Products

Hi! I’m setting up a flow thats triggered by a cancelled subscription on recharge.Does anyone have any advice on best practices for this as its similar to a winback flow but for a subscription product? When someone cancels their subscription, would the timing for the first email be the same as the recommended average time between orders for a general one time purchase winback flow? Sign up form for my Instagram bio

Hi Guys, I hope everyone is having a good day. I am trying to create a full page form on Klaviyo sign up forms. I followed this blog but it still doesn’t work.  https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/7417723679387 It takes me straight to my homepage and converts it to a full page form overriding my pop-up.  How can I get a full page sign up form that I can link to in my Instagram bio? Custom Property Tag Link That Redirects to Preference Page

I am trying to tag a customer WHILE redirecting them to their preference page.I use this as my link:{% update_property_link 'profile_property' 'property_value' 'redirect_link' %}And, I want to redirect to the preference page.So, I added the Preference_page link in the code, like this:{% update_property_link 'LatestXP' '5' '% manage_preferences_link %' %}(Basically asking how’s their latest order, tagging with the appropriate number and redirecting them to their preference page.) That being said, when I send a campaign to my email (not preview!), I get this error:——This page isn’t workingmanage.kmail-lists.com sent an invalid response.ERR_INVALID_REDIRECT——QUESTIONS1. Is it possible that I need to redirect to a specific link instead of a dynamic one?2. Is it possible to find a static url for the preference page (even if that means that they have to fill out their email) ?Thank you! 🙏

Not all emails are sending instantly

I set an email campaign to be sent at a certain time but when I check hours past this time it still says “This campaign is still sending to 1121 queued recipients”. I have set the email to send instantly so I do not understand why this is happening and how to fix this?

alternative to fallback fonts

I have a client that only wants to use their custom fonts on emails and doesn’t like the fallback fonts that klaviyo sometimes defaults to. So I’ve been having to design emails in Canva, slicing the image into sections and uploading the PNG sections into Klaviyo.So far we haven’t seen any negative effect on open and click rates but is there a workaround besides designing and uploading the entire email as an image? Ideally, I’d love to design in Klaviyo so I can repurpose emails in the future. Having to design every email is a bit time consuming…Thanks!

How to best set up flow' structures for email frequency preferences?

Hello Klaviyo community,I hope everyone’s having a great day.I am Dang, and I believe it’s important to email people at the frequency that they prefer. It’s better to send the appropriate number of emails than bombarding the customer to make them unsubscribe. I’ve been collecting email frequency preferences, including daily, weekly, and monthly as custom properties.Then tried to restructure my flows according to those frequencies. I tried to use conditional splits and time delays to stagger the email being sent based on the custom property they have applied to their account.The problem is some of our email messages (whether from flows or campaigns) will interfere with each other.So in a flow named A, after receiving Email A#1, instead of receiving Email A#2, a profile could receive a campaign D, or email B#1 (another email from another flow based on their behaviors).You can check the flow in the image below for an example:In the flow, I'll check their frequency preference, let's say We

Send name - brand or personal?

This is a weird question, but, I’m wondering if the send name should be my brand name (Damesly) -- or my personal name (kelly)? My company is larger than just me, of course. Asking because it could be an advantage to send it out under my name. Would it help the emails to land in a primary gmail folder instead of a promotions tab? Is there any research around this? Best practices? Would love to hear your thoughts!

When importing contacts into Klaviyo via CSV import, is it possible to skip contacts that already exist instead of overwriting their data? It seems the only option at the moment if contacts already exist in Klaviyo is that any mapped fields will be overwritten my new data from the CSV file. Is there any option to skip/exclude contacts that already exist without having to mash the list in advance in Excel?

Klaviyo Transactional Email Flow

Hi all,We send both marketing and transactional emails from Klaviyo.We have a special flow set up for billing receipts. Automations outperforming campaigns

I recently took over an account and I am seeing something I have never seen before. In terms of email-attributed revenue, automations (flows) are outperforming campaigns. The breakdown is 60/40 in favour of automations. This is obviously not best practice and am wondering if anyone else has encountered something similar and successfully made some changes that moved this percentage in favour of campaigns. Anyone advice or feedback would be greatly welcomed.

Issues With Accepts True Marketing Status

Hi, apologies if this is a silly question.I made a location based list with a lot of people on it. When I added the condition of “Accepts True Marketing” the list was reduced by 75%.We obviously want to work with the biggest list possible, but we’re concerned we’re now allowed to send emails to the entire list. Any help? Thanks for your time.
