Best Practice for Transactional SMS: Shipment Notifications

Hi Community, I’m looking for advice on how to deploy a transactional sms message for shipping notifications without signing folks up for marketing SMS. Does it make sense to separate transactional SMS and marketing sms recipients? Does it make more sense to ask for marketing SMS consent? “Sign up for shipment tracking notification via SMS and other messages”. Therefore collecting typical consent? I have a custom site and Klaviyo integration. I assume I’ll have Events/Metrics posting to Klaviyo profiles with shipment tracking updates are available… with a parameter that tells me which kind of message it is. “It’s shipped” “Arriving Tomorrow” “Out for delivery” “Delivered!”. Looking forward to learning your approach.

Can't change Brand name in SMS messages

 Hello - when a welcome SMS message is sent via a flow - there is a typo in the Brand name. It should read Fungimental. I have corrected it in the account settings - but the typo still shows. Am I missing something? I tried re-creating the text alert in the flow. I also tried cloning the flow. Do I need to start again with a new flow to pick-up the change? ...and is that the ONLY way? Going to be a right ball ache!

 Hi I have a Haircare beardcare company through Shopify I’ve had for 3 years but just recently started using emails to market. I’m new to klaviyo but when I went to setup my sms marketing it says that sms is unavailable to me because of prohibited content. Why is this? We are a Haircare beardcare company only. All of my products are on the up and up. No illegal substances are contained in them so what is the problem. Can anybody help me with this asap because I really need the sms marketing to add to my campaign. Thank you in advance… cuttgamefresh.com is the store

SMS pricing unclear to me...

Hey all,Maybe I just have brain fry but I’m not understanding how pricing for SMS works…Two q’s:I see it says send up to 150 sms messages - does that mean 150 in total? So if I have 400 profiles and I send 1 sms mssg - I’m way over the 150 limit just with one sms send? I see the $20 plan (500 subs) says you can send up to 150. Not sure what this means price-wise? What happens when you need more than 150? Is it just me, or is it very unclear from the pricing info on the billing/pricing pages? Thanks in advance for any help with this!

SMS text not working.

Hello,I've been searching on the forum high and low for two days and I haven't been able to find an answer to my question. I've even emailed the support desk and am still awaiting a response. I just recently signed up for Klaviyo and have already set up Welcome and Abandoned cart email flows. I also created pop up forms for email as well as sms. The SMS pop up works fine; however, when I click the subscribe button (from my mobile device) to go through the joining process, it's not working properly. It takes me to my text messages with a pre-made join message ready for me to send. When I send it, nothing else happens, and I never receive any follow-up texts. I also am not seeing anything in my SMS list, so there's definitely a disconnect somewhere. I've followed the setup directions given, but still not working. I don't want to launch my new site until I get this working, so a quick resolution would be greatly appreciated.

Confusion around SMS opt-in consent

I’m a little confused about where the line is drawn for SMS opt-in, regardless of the country. Klaviyo training and experience have repeatedly shown me “Text YES to opt-in” when platforms have my number, but this is still an SMS message which I did not give consent to receive (unless it says somewhere in T&Cs that I consent to receive an opt in message). Even if I ignore or say no, what’s stopping an organisation from sending me daily messages offering me desperately to opt in (although I’d just mark as spam).

I send SMS failed, Because my phone number is not verified?I need a phone number to send SMS now, but it need to be verified for 7-10 days. I cannot wait, I need to send SMS at once! Is there any way to accelerate validation?

success page doesn't display if SMS opt in is skipped

So if a person adds their email the SMS option pops up. But if they say no thanks then the flyout just closes without going to the success step which tells them to check their emails.I can’t figure out how to make this work. Did i break something when I removed the SMS option then added it back?

Import Text List - How do I send them through an optin-flow

Hey everyone, First post here. I have a list of phone numbers collected from our retail locations. They haven’t explicitly consented to receiving marketing texts and I’m wondering the best way to obtain consent. I know there’s an auto message that can go out through the Compliance Keywords but not sure how to trigger this text to go out. Also don’t love that this would be the first message they’d receive. Ideally would send them a quick text saying something about their retail loyalty points (which they have consented to receive information about) and then saying something that prompts marketing optin. Any help would be appreciated.

Can a customer place an order via SMS? Here’s what I’m thinking:I sell a replenishable product, and my goal is to make reordering as simple as possible.I’d like to send and SMS with product details and ask the customer to reply with “Yes” (or something similar) if they want to reorder. Is this possible?If not, what is the most frictionless way to capture reorders via sms?

Unable to create flows off of sms keyword responses. "Message Body" field seems to be missing?

Hello! I’ve been following this help article: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049930372#signupdownvote as I want to be able to send personalized SMS’s based off of what our customers reply back to our SMS’s with.  Aka, when we send an SMS asking our customers: “Do you want baking or cooking recipes?”We want to reply back with a cookie recipe if they say baking and a chicken recipe if they say cooking. However, when I use the “SMS sent” metric trigger or conditional action I am unable to find the “Message Body” field that the instructions say to pull in order to respond to the keyword and track what our customers are saying. Any way to resolve this?

Can I change the sms re-subscribe messaging?

your sms resubscribe message which cannot be changed is asking people to reply with “unstop” with the double quotes around the unstop.  Users are replying with exactly “unstop” with the double quotes and they are not able to resubscribe because that is obviously the wrong trigger word. Can you add “unstop” with the double quotes as a trigger or remove the double quotes from the wording so it doesn’t confuse people?

How do I collect consent for SMS through desktop signups?

Hi there.I am a bit confused about collecting consent for SMS which I will describe below.I have a form that confirms opt-in for SMS that only shows up on a mobile. This is easy to configure because of the special "Subscribe via SMS" action button that you can put in mobile only forms. So people click that button on their mobile, they get sent a text message asking them to "Join" the list. That problem I have is this...I have the same setup on a desktop. I have the same sort of form but it only shows on desktop. People have to manually type in their phone number to sign up for SMS and press "Send me texts". But I don't know how to get their consent for the list it sends them to this way. I've tested it with myself and nothing happens asking me to confirm my sign up on my phone. If the list they are configured to join has "double opt-in" checked or "single opt-in" checked, they just join the list anyway. So it appears to not matter if I have double or single opt-in checked.I hope I expl

Record SMS sent replies to pass via integrations

One of the BIG limitations of the Klaviyo to Gorgias integration is that inability to pass the whole automated SMS conversation from Klaviyo to Gorgias when a customer replies. For instance, if there are several automated SMS in a sequence and someone replies to an open ended question eg “I’d like to learn more about this product” then that reply has no context when it comes into Gorgias as the SMS they replied to is not bought in for the whole conversation. I’ve reached out to Gorgias on this and they have said this is a limitation of the Klaviyo system. Is there a way to record that SMS reply (even if it’s via an API integration) so it can then be allocated to that ticket in Gorgias?
