Update a user’s preference via a link - not working

Hi, I am trying to use the following variable via a button in an email:{% preference_link 'customer_type' 'gen_cust' %}As described here: https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408802648731-Guide-to-Template-Tags-and-Variable-Syntax-new-editor-#manage-preferences8When I send a test email and click the button, I am directed to my “update preferences” page, however, the custom property specified is not updated with the specified value Both ‘customer_type’ and ‘gen_cust’ are both properties that exist on my manage preference page. What am I doing wrong? If i use the variable {% update_property_link 'customer_type' 'gen_cust' 'www.hsconline.co.uk' %} in the button URL instead, then the property value on the profile is updated, however, I need the customer to end up on their update preferences page rather than my home page.What am I doing wrong with the {% preference_link 'customer_type' 'gen_cust' %} variable?Is there a way to use the {% update_property_link 'customer_type' 'gen_cust'

Excluding people with 'never subscribed' status from email sends

I’m creating a segment of people who have placed an order, but only want to include those who have actively subscribed to email marketing. Some profiles in our Klaviyo account have a status of ‘never subscribed’ (i.e. a yellow checkmark). Is there a way to exclude these people from the segment?

Segmentation Settings Restoration

I wanted to clean a list of fake emails so I exported the list from Klaviyo and after the cleanup, forgetting the segmentation and settings these people must have been on, I deleted the initial set of contacts. Now, my client is mad. Is there a way to restore these settings, please? I feel so bad

Segmenting B2B and B2C

Hello Everybody,So I have a shopify store with two sites: one is B2B and the other B2C. The customers flow into my B2B site using typeform + zappier. Both the B2B and B2C customers get funneled into one list in my Klaviyo which is fine.My question here is how do I properly segment b2b and b2c subscribers? I tried segmenting via $source equals -9 (the API value) for the b2b segment and $source does not equal -9 for the b2c segment but the total numbers of these two segments don’t add up to my total subscriber count.Any help and advise will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Deleting Property Values

When I imported (synced) my Mailchimp contacts into Klaviyo, Klaviyo created many errors in the profile properties, especially for phone number and location information (city, state/region, country, zip code, latitude longitude). I spent considerable time populating a csv file to correct the errors and then imported the file into Klaviyo. The import successfully corrected errors that involved replacing one value (the incorrect one) with another. However, for those properties where I tried to delete the incorrect value (rather than replacing it with another value), it was unsuccessful – the incorrect value remained. In other words, in the imported csv file, there were some items for which I tried to replace an incorrect property value with a blank, but it didn’t work – the incorrect value was not replaced with a blank. How can I delete incorrect values from properties?

Phone and email tracking

Hello,Klaviyo newb here. Our brand is starting to expand our retail efforts and a lot of that involves email and phone follow-ups. Is this something Klaviyo can assist with? I.e. reminders, logs, spreadsheets, tracking, etc? Or should I be looking for a different CRM?Thanks !Max​​​​​​​

Integrate Google Ads Lead form with Klaviyo list

Hi, I’ve noticed there is a recent integration possible between Google Ads and Klaviyo. Mainly meant for using Audiences. The other way around, I would like to use a Google Lead form (Ad) to generate leads that wil automatically sync with a Klaviyo list, followed by a Flow to deliver the email(s).(Same set-up as available with Meta/ Facebook lead forms)Can this be done without 3rd parties like Zapier? Is this on the Klaviyo Road Map?  When will this be available?Many thanks, _Wouter

Excluding people that are in welcome flow

Hello, I’ve just started setting up some of my flows, including my welcome flow. I send out mini campaigns every week, and would like to exclude anyone that’s in the welcome flow so they don’t get the campaign emails just yet. I know I can exclude certain segments from the campaign but how do I go about creating a segment of anyone that’s in the welcome flow? I couldn’t see an option for ‘Is in X flow’ within the segments builder, what’s the best (neatest/easiest!) way to do this?Thanks,Meeta

Profiles marked "Email Never Subscribed" even though Subscribed events appear

I am looking at profiles in our newsletter list, and many of them say “Email ! Never Subscribed” even though I can see in the events section at the right that they have subscribed and even received and opened emails. Have I set up a sign-up form incorrectly?

Excluding people from a flow based on their nationality

Hey there.So my client sells jewlery on the french market, but a few people from oversize purchase her products sometimes.Probably 1 or 2% of them.How can I exclude from my welcome series the non french people to make sure they don’t receive our french emails marketing ?Do I need to create a segment ? Is this really accurate ?If yes, would you recommande to create a segment based on their IP adress or location ? Thanks.Steve.

My B2B customers are on Quickbooks - how can I market them?

Hi Everyone, I have a number of B2B customers. I use Klaviyo to market my B2C customers but feel like I’m missing out huge by not marketing my B2B customers.  I want to offer them bulk discounts and nurture them so they keep supporting me.  These businesses haven’t consented to marketing though. I was thinking, I should send them a personal email from my personal email address asking them if they’d be interested in joining my “B2B bulk deals” type thing and include a link to an opt-in form I would build on Klaviyo and direct them to sign up via the link.  Do you think this is the best way to do this or am I leaving a more strategic and easier approach on the table.  Guidance will be so great.  Thanks! SmileyRox :-)

Importing lists the right way...

Hey.My client has imported some profils from her Shopify account in Klaviyo.She also has a list in her Mailchimp and also another one in Calendly (she’s a retailer and wants to sell online that’s why she books appointments thru Calendly).I’m very confused about what I should (or shoudn’t do) to make sure I can import everything right in Klaviyo...If I import all of those lists, is there a chance that an email adress would be added 2 times ? Can Klaviyo understand if 2 same email adress are added and allow it only one time ? Thanks. Steve.

Can I create a Segment to include people who have only received specific flow emails?

Hi there,I am building a segment to send emails to the people who have not received any email other than the emails belonging to a specific flow that we’ve setup. When I go the segment definition screen, I can filter by if someone is not or is in the list, received email how many times etc. but can’t seem to find a filter that says received email “as part of the flow” then enter the flow name. Any ideas?

Best way to get accurate geo-location?

I have a client that is very dependent on good geo-location on a city by city basis. What would be the most helpful thing to add to our signup forms to get an accurate geo that works with the “proximity to a location” option when pulling a segment? Would asking for their zip code be the best bang for the buck?   I know that anyone who has purchased had good geo from the billing location but looking for a solution for list members who haven’t purchased.

List not showing for my embedded form

I’ve created a new embedded form and I can’t see the list where the sign-ups will be going to (as shown below).  I already set a specific list where the subscribers will be added once they sign up. The list is already set to single opt-in. But still it’s not showing.Let me know what’s the workaround for this one. Thanks!

Adding Past Profiles.

I have created a Newsletter flow and want to add past profiles that I imported from Mail Chimp.  When I click on add past profiles nothing happens.  I’ve removed all conditions but still nothing.Any help would be great.

What is the most recent consent/opt-in field?

Hi folks, so I’m in the process of creating a new master list/single source of truth for a few accounts and trying to clean the data up first. Each account has multiple lists. Various profiles have values for “email marketing consent”, “Email Marketing Double Opted In”, “Accepts Marketing”, “Consent”.As far as I can tell, “Accepts marketing” is from Shopify, “Consent” is from Klaviyo and the others may be from different sources over the last couple of years. The lists were collected via various methods, not exclusively a newsletter signup or checkout opt-in.My question is - what is the most recent/most reliable source of “yes, this person wants marketing” data?

Tracking with $source

“if you wanted to track all the users who have subscribed to your master list coming from an external competition landing page, this is simple. You pass the data across to Klaviyo with the required hidden $source field upon form submission (sign-up) and then as the user profile is added to the master list, so to is this database field for the $source (where they came from). From here, you can build dynamic segments, using the condition that filters for that source, and instantly you have a dynamic, real-time update of all of they users who have signed up from your external competition landing page in this example.”I was reading this, and i’m not sure how it is possible to pass data across klaviyo from an external landing page.  someone can explain me?

Custom Properties on list

Were currently using MailChimp where Custom properties are added to the List and them added by API by using its Merge Tag.Are custom properties only available through profiles in Klaviyo or is it possible to have Custom properties on list, which mean the property is only linked to the specific list signup and not to the profile itself?
