Some profiles aren't receiving emails despite the single opt-in

Like @In the Inbox said, unless someone is marked as Suppressed or Unsubscribed, they’ll be mailable within your account even if it says they aren’t subscribed (Consent not collected). My hunch is your segmentation or list targeting in some ways aren’t grouping in those email addresses that hadn’t received a message recently. I’d check the Lists & segments tab on their profiles to see if they currently fall into the targeting you had for your recent emails that deployed.

warming up a new klaviyo account

sorry one more question - is it normal for a welcome email to go into junk when I first turn it on given that I don't have a sending reputation. The links Taylor shared are great resources to get clear on healthy emailing!When you first get started, there are a multitude of reasons an inbox provider might consider your email spam worth but as long as you continue to deliver good content to your subscribers who organically opted into your lead magnet or sign-up form - you are proving to those providers that your domain can be trusted overtime. Typically I don’t see a brand new domain going straight to spam unless that email journey isn’t something your new leads are engaging with or marking your messages as spam themselves.

Which Social Platform Do You Spend Time On To Get Ecommerce Advice For Your Store?

I personally am I huge Youtube fan (Counts as a social platform right?!) It just has so much great content to easily find and devour.There are so many pros out there like Ezra Firestone posting great e-commerce strategy and if you need help on email marketing strategy and tutorials, I will selflessly plug my own YouTube Channel! 😆Like Katherine said, there are great newsletters out there - I’ll throw out there Daily Carnage as well, that send you roundups on the biggest newest and tips in the space.

Same email appearing differently on iphone and android

Hey there!A quick fix could be applying your white background color to the Section block instead of the blocks you placed within the email. That can help uniform the entire section regardless of the padding to put within different blocks.

Extra profiles mystery for a non ecommerce website

Hey there! Do you have anything integrated with Klaviyo currently? Any prior email marketing platforms, Squarespace, Typeform - anything linked with Klaviyo like their current website?Typically those ‘floating’ profiles are ones that are in your account so that you can clearly see your full profiles list but they may have not technically subscribed like you mentioned.But if a 3rd party app or website is synced and integrated, it may bring over all historical data into Klaviyo alongside those profiles.  Also is there any profile property data stored for these contacts? That can help key into what brought them over as well!

Creating a New product alert Flow, to a specific research

I’m on the same wavelength as Taylor!A product feed will allow you to filter for Newest Products released on your website and if you are able to define your alert lists into specific buckets, your flow could have conditional filters set above each alert type so that they go down a very specific path of Newest Products that fit their criteria. So for example, if a customer falls down the $50< bucket, that can be one path in your flow (or segment as a campaign) which then will send them their email that has the Data Feed placed inside of it for newest products under $50. May take a bit of tinkering and defining your buckets of criteria!

custom integration: how to communicate user roles to klaviyo?

For your Dev team, a way they can do this is by updating a profile property for the subscriber with the API!They can reference this doc page: https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/v1-2/reference/update-profileAnd once someone’s roles are created, deleted, or updated - they can then update the custom profile property with the correct status. You’ll then create a segment based on the profile property per each role and their API will handle updating the data on the user’s profile.Let me know if you need more details!

Issue with Abandoned Cart flow

Hey there!There are a couple of potential issues I see. Your current conditional split says ‘Since Starting This Flow’ which technically means that it is looking for a NEW event to happen to filter by, not their current cart. So instead, you can swap it to ‘In the last 2 days’ or ‘over all time’ for it to capture their most recent event. Also, instead of a condition split, you can swap it to a trigger split!Your current conditional split is checking their entire history of abandoned carts to see if they had a product abandoned but if you put in a trigger split, it is then going to check if their current cart has that specific item, so it is more targeted to the exact item in their cart at this moment then of their full abandoned history with your brand.Let me know if you have any questions - hope that helps!

Show/hide logic not working

Hey there!Since an abandoned cart sequence is a repeating array, you’ll need to surround your logic in your text block with an If/Else Statement and you might be able to simplify if where is Price = 0, then to hide the price or could stick to SKUs.Some examples here from Klaviyo!I need to test it a few times to get the exact statement outline (& if any other Klaviyo Champions are statement pros, they can chime in too!) but it’ll be something like this below but may totally need to be tested and tweaked further! But something like this would just pop into where you variable for price lives in the text block. {% if person|lookup:'price' > 0 %}${{ item.price}}{% elif person|lookup:'price' < 0 %}{% else %}${{ item.price}}{% endif %}

Consent email from multiple forms

Hey Toni,You could swap the triggers for you flows to be segment based instead of metric based and adding in a new profile property for each form submission in the form settings. So, PDF having a property called - ‘PDF Form’ = ‘YES’ for example.Your segment could be: Subscribed to List Newsletter AND Properties about someone ‘PDF Form’ = YES and $consent is set (or set to email).And then creating another version for the discount one. That person can then technically join each segment and trigger each flow.

Report Email Automation

For a project like this, I typically have to work alongside a developer who stores all of the customer’s event data into an API. That API then will fire off the data and variables into unique profile properties or as a single custom event metric per ‘update’ that is going out.Then as a flow (or campaign if you do profile properties), all of the those variables can then feed into these user update emails. Things like those graphs are definitely trickier to achieve. That is when you have the API doing If/Else statement to then feed the correct image in. So if the user exceed 50 points but is lower than 60, then feed this specific image src link into variable ‘Tuesday Graph’. It can get complicated!But is do-able with an API that connects to where you house all of this app usage info you want to send to the user via email.API Dashboard: https://developers.klaviyo.com/en/reference/api_overview

What dynamic variable to use to show product image in emails?

To find that variable, click ‘Preview & Test’ in the top right corner. There you will find all of your variable data that you can copy into the area you screenshot. You’d just need to find the one labeled for product image source.Here are some guides on it:https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002779071Depending on your integration and trigger of your message, the variable could be:{{ event.extra.line_items.0.product.images.0.src }}But that depends on the trigger metric of your message/flow.If this is only a campaign send with no trigger metric, then there won’t be dynamic event data to feed into this message.

Personalised product recommendations

Hey Tobi!There isn’t an option for adding in the description to that dynamic product block that you drop into the editor but depending on your flow, you could show/hide sections you build out with recommendations you hand-select based on their conditions.Great examples of how to use that feature here: So let’s say your flow is based on cross-selling them into different items, you could show/hide certain recommendations based on the trigger data of what that first purchase contained. And then you’d be able to fully add in product descriptions etc since it will be a section you manually built! Just one work-around but more manual.

New SMS subscriber flow not working - coupon text not sending

Hey @wczee, it’s possible that your current opt-ins didn’t reply Y to the confirmation text to then officially opt into your SMS communications. How many opt-ins have you had so far for your account and was it working with your own phone number when testing?As one option to test, are you seeing any data appear for the metric ‘Subscribed to SMS Marketing’? You can find that under the Analytics → Metrics section in Klaviyo.That’ll be super telling to see if anyone should have come into the flow. And would you be able to take a screenshot of your SMS flow trigger and filters, that’ll help narrow down any issues there as well!

How can I find the most popular product for a first purchase. and export this data?

Hey @RauriHere! Shopify has a product insight report you can view to see that most popular first time order data!Once you have that item, you can then create a segment in Klaviyo for the audience that has ordered that product. You’ll then be able to analyze their data via export, running engagement reports on that segment, or manual review of those profile segments . I’m not aware of a way to bulk export activity logs without using Metric APIs.The new Klaviyo CDP may have that extra layer of reporting but I’ll let Klaviyo team chime in on that to confirm!

Hey there,Correct, if you want that email to fire off right after purchase then ‘Placed Order’ is the way to go!But also a note for Fulfilled Order, that’ll normally be when the order is marked packed or shipped in Shopify and now about to be on the way for the customer.

Abandoned Carts - Better to show discount code in a sign-up form or send in an email flow?

I totally go inbetween the two different methods!If an account is worried about deliverability and their emails having a bit of a spam issue. Having those contacts head to their inbox to grab that welcome code can be a method for boosting engagement early on.But if conversions are the focus, then I say promo-code right in the pop-up with it being hyperlinked to auto-apply the code right into their cart once clicked (if Shopfiy). Take as many steps away from the person a possible is my goal for that one.

How to get a vertically-stacked abandoned cart flow?

Hey there! The way I typically do this is in a single dynamic text block. I was testing and tried subscribing with the same email address a few times, and it appears blocked.

Hey there!One trick to get around testing your same email address is to apply a plus sign to your email.For example:Garymgordon@gmail.com becomes garymgordon+1@gmail.com or garmgordon+test@gmail.comAnything you put after the plus become unique but is routed to your main email addresses inbox. Give that a test and should help with you testing re-opting into your forms but typically if a welcome series is triggered by joining a list, it won’t re-trigger every time someone fills out the form. It’ll be the first time they join the list.
